unfortunately, it had to do with the call not ever hitting the phone. Which is not my issue.
The problem: when a call comes in, the phone shows the incoming call window, will vibrate (since I have it set to vibrate AND ring), but no Ring of any kind.
Facts:
1) Standard default ring (“OldPhone” , since it’s the loudest), no customizations
2) Volume all the way up
3) All system sounds are working and loud (before, during and after a silent incoming call), so the speaker is fine
4) After a silent ring, when I go to Settings | Sounds | Incoming Calls and I play the default I can barely hear it from the speaker, But all other system sounds are loud
5) I can only fix this problem by doing a hard reset and reinstalling my contacts, etc. (soft reset does not fix the issue)
6) There are no modifications/installs between when it works and when it stops working
Installed Software
1) Voice Command (with phone announce OFF), It also happens without Voice Command Installed
2) SPB Backup (invaluable as I restore my hard reset phone from a clean, working image)
3) TCPMP Player with AAC codec add-on
4) iGuidance
5) eReader software
6) PHM Regedit
Hacks:
1) Wifi & Phone at the same time
2) Glyphcache to 16384
3) Text Message, “Message Sent” removal
4) Wmodem and GPS enabled from manufacturer’s access screen.
Where is your ringtone located SD or internal mem? and What size is the ringtone? And file type?
Usually you use a small 200K or less file and put it in the windows\rings folder it fixes this problem, I had a MAJOR issue with this, sprint was puzzled, it is on here in many threads.

CHspyder, i'm using only the default rings that come with the 6700. I gave up on using my own ringtones 3 weeks after getting this phone.
When i go into System sounds, and select incoming Call: (after i start having the problem) which ever sound i select, and i hit the play/preview button, it comes through almost inaudible. It doesn't matter which ring i'm using. but if i select ANY other system sound, it is very loud (txt msg, clicks, anything else)
It's very annoying. this shouldn't be happening with the default ringers.
Hate to say it hard reset, or reflash the device, sounds like corrupt files. But you said you have done this, so you may have bad memory in the device, try keeping out your MINISD and hardrest, then see if it still dies like this.
Also is this happening after you install all those apps? If so, keep it clean for a while and install 1 app a day or week, this might tell you what it is?
