Lightbulb Look Under Your Battery (SIM slot)

I recently got the Seidio Extended battery and when I was swapping batteries I noticed something. Under the battery on the left side there appears to be a slot for some kind of memory card/stick. Has anyone else noticed this or know what it's for?

Yeah, that would ordinarily be a slot for a SIM card, if this phone had also been offered in a GSM version.

The XV6700 is the CDMA version and the Wizard is the GSM version if I recall correctly.

Actually very different phones. The space on the 6700 is just a provision, IN CASE a carrier were to order a GSM version to be built.
