Verizon just lost a customer (7135 user)...

I have been a long ime Verizon wireless customer. I have been using a Kyocera 7135 for over 3 years and have been generally happy with it. As my business has grown I have needed to use more and more minutes and my old 300 minute plan was not cutting it and I did not want to switch to another contract plan because I would lose my MOU data that I had with the present plan and the Kyocera. Over two months ago I called Verizon support and a woman on the other line said that she could move me up to 500 minutes on my same plan for an additional $10.00 per month. I said great..She said to please wait while she made the change to my account. After several minutes I told her my phone battery was dying and I needed to get into my customers office anyway. She said that she had just about completed what needed to be done anyway and said she would finish it up. Fast forward to yesterday. MY wife and I were having a discussion about the cell phone bill (she does all the bills) and she mentioned that our bills were still astronomical because of the overage charges and I said "WHAT?" I changed the plan to a 500 minute plan and I have been carefully watching my usage. I get home and read the bill and they never changed my plan!!! I call up customer "service" (yeah right!) and they had no record of my call to them over two months ago. They would not change the billing either. I said, thank you very much and told them they just lost a customer of 10+ years.

I just picked up a 6700 at sprint today and am learning my way around it. I will miss the flip phone on the 7135 and some of the other nice features...I sure hope that the 6700 can replace it...Looking forward to the faster browsing etc. I really need data access now for what my company is doing.

Sorry for the long rant but over the past several months because Verizon kicked me between the legs I have spent over 300 more dollars than I needed too. I used to like Verizon, but their overage charges are insane, their customer service is REALLY bad and their data plans/family share plans are in the stone age when compared to the likes of spring or even cingular. Bye Verizon. I don't think I will miss you.

Thanks for sharing Marcus, I hope you enjoy your new 6700, I certainly love mine (I am a former 7135 user as well in additon to several other smartphones). Because this thread has a very high potential to turn into a Sprint vs. Verizon bashing thread (even though I know that is not your intention), I am going to go ahead and close it. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to PM me. Thanks!
