South Florida Internet Down or XV6700 Failure?

I called Verizon last night, as both Pocket Outlook and IE were not able to get past connect. "Opening" is as far as IE gets. We dialed the #2xxxx number a few times, (which reporgrams the phone), created a new connection, did some soft resets and this morning I did a hard reset.

Still does not work. I called Verizon and gave them a case number. They are sending a replacement phone.

What happened?
Why are they sending a new phone so quickly?
Now I have to transfer my BoxWave Clear Toouch screen protector.

Doubt it is the phone

I had the same problem Friday morning around 9am. Did a *228opt2 did a couple of soft resets and it finally and SLOWLY got a few messages from my exchange server. I got to work, and it worked fine all day. Figured problem was gone. Couple of hours ago I decided to set up a few POP accounts on my phone. SAME problem. Wouldn't connect, reset, would connect no download, turn off radio, turn it back on, try again, it connects and downloads SLOWLY. Took quite some time to get the accounts set up with this problem. I think it has something to do with EVDO in the area.

HEH, just tried it with my 6600. EXACT same problem. Can't even bring up google.com. I think this is a Verizon problem. I will call and complain in a bit I guess.

Since they typically replace with refurb phones, you might want to wait before replaceing the one you know the history of.

Ohh, I'm in the 33321 zip, in case it is just a single tower problem.

Update: Slow/No Internet Connection

Verizon is sending a replacement phone.

I was able to connect this morning at almost normal speed. But again, the phone just hangs on "opening" in IE and logging on in Pocket Outlook.

I called again today to confrirm that there are no issues with South Florida. The tech confrimed this and said it must be the phone.

So after 4 sets of re-programming with the tech on the phone and a hard reset, the phone is being replaced. The only thing I can think of is that I used the Verizon charger in the car and when I unplugged it after 2 hours it was warm. Maybe these phones are heat sensitive?
