Replacement phone stuck in roaming mode

I need some help. I switched out my phone earlier today due to a problem with syncing. And now with my new 6700 I've been roaming all day, I cannot receive any incoming calls, and everytime I press *2 talk, Verizon wireless customer service picks up. WTF? Oh yeah, and I've been a sprint customer for over 9 years. Any suggestions. Still on hold for a tech.

In your phone's NAM programming, your SID/NID are not correct. You must have your correct SID/NID combo to fix the issue. If you know both of those codes, go into programming:

##000000 [TALK]

Select "Home SID/NID #1" [Edit]

Enter the correct SID/NID [OK]

Select [Yes]

This should initiate a reset, and the device should work following the reset.

Hope this helps!

I pressed ##000000 (talk) and the prompt said, your phone call could not be completed. maybe there's something I should put after the last 0?

I have enough experience w/ Sprint over the years - if you are near a sprint store with a full time tech, go there and have him/her reprogram your phone... May be good to call ahead of time to setup a timeslot if possible.

1) were u successful in making calls in non-roam mode?
2) is your phone's roaming set to "Automatic" (vs. SprintOnly or RoamOnly) ?

Anyway, Turns out, I just got a defective phone. Brand new too. They were trying to tell me at the store, that it was due to all the applications, and programs I have installed. But I then told the rep that ever since they had given me the phone on April 27, as of 1:37 pm, I had not received a single incoming call. I was able to dial out, although it stayed roaming. I also changed my setting to sprint network only.

Finally, Sprint is going to replace my phone free of charge yet again. They told me to go in on wednesday or thursday because there's none in stock. I think I took their last new one the week before when they replaced my last 6700.

I had this problem before, do a soft reset and as soon as you are able after it reboots go to roaming option under services and select sprint only.
That should allow you to get on the Sprint network.
Afterwards call Customer Service and have them reset up your account as well as flag you for the lastest PRL for good measure. Then you should be able to set your services back to automatic.

Well, I received my replacement phone for the replacement phone today. And guess what? This phone is doing the same thing? As soon as I received the phone I tested it out, and called from my mobile to the 6700, and the call went through fine. When I got home, I began to customize my device and not before long did I test it out again about 5 times, and it's not receiving calls again. So, I did a hard reset, and it's still the same? It's not making any sense. Here are a list of the programs I had installed:

Phm powertoys
Vijay light
Vijay basehue
Btaudio
treo speed dial
6700 hacks
netcfv2arm 2mb app.
msnbc.com app

I don't know what to do. This is the 2nd brand new 6700 I've got in less than a week. Hmmmmm...........................

You know what else is weird. I have the device set to sprint network only, and evdo only, and I am able to call out. So when I do call out, the evdo icon dissapears, and the 1x icon pops up.

Help would greatly appreciated. Sprint has no idea what to do. They're just going to replace it again, and that's a pain in the ass..

Apply the new 20221 PRL update posted in another thread. It was designed to solve this issue.

I tried to apply the 20221 update, but I just spent a half an hour on the phone with a technician and the unlock code was not working on my phone. So I guess it's back to the sprint store

Exclamation How to: Check your MSL (Unlock Code)

Once you enter ##PRL# via the phone pad and get the unlock code dialog, you don't enter the # signs, just the MSL (six digits). If you have the right MSL, it WILL work. Once you get to the next dialog, it should be pretty self-explanatory. To test to see if you have the right MSL, enter ##xxxxxx# on your phone pad (the x's are your MSL). You should get to the programming dialog (EPST) screen. From there you can view, edit, or cancel. Just cancel if you don't need to review your MDN or MSID.

Hope this helps,
Todd/Indy

But, once I enter the ##unlock code#, nothing happens. So I know It's a sprint issue. Nothing I can do to resolve it on my own. I wish there was. Makes me mad.

You mean on phone keypad? If that's the case you've perhaps customized your ROM by disabling cabs? Do any other ## codes work? As soon as you hit the final "#" in "##xxxxxx#" the EPST screen should appear.

YEah, nothing works, I mean there's no response when I type in tye unlock code. And what exactly to the cabs do? The ones under file explores/windows? They say like cab 1 or cab ok, or something like that.

Well after 3 brand new 6700's, and the same problem on all of them. The phone unable to receive incoming calls I mean, I'm fed up. It has affected me personally, and also with work. I was so fed up with this device I asked the manager to downgrade my phone, and switch it out with a Treo 650. I know, I know. I'm kinda regretting it now. But I don't know what the hell was going on with that phone. 3 DIFFERENT ONES!! Well I guess I'm going to wait for the Treo 700 to hit Sprint...

Gonna miss you guys, by far the best website I've ever been a part of.

Like family man!!!!!!!
