Thank you for such great work. I once tried the Kokkos dialer in order to get the speed dial button but it never worked on my XV6700. While those were great looking schemes, I couldn't justify the overhead and not have the one feature I wanted. I decided to revisit this thread after a couple of months and saw your entry. Tried the cab file and what a surprise. Very functional for me! Everything seems to work. I'm using the blue basic now. I may try some of your latest artistic creations but I need to do some more reading on how those folders are installed. I suppose they go to replace the one installed by the blue cab. Anyway, that will be for another time but just wanted to say thanks for getting something on my XV6700 that works the way I wanted it to!

You teased us with an orange skin in post #162 but in #184 you only put out the black, red and blue. I am still waiting in earnest for this! But even if you don't get to this soon I'd like to say "Great job!" for your hard work in providing what I think is the best in skinning so far using the Eten layout.

In outlook mail it doesn't show the time of the messages.
The device doesn't seem to be getting it's time from the network.
These two items along with the EVDO arrow issue are about all that's
left to fix to make this dialer top notch. Hopefully these things will get
ironed out. This is certainly not a knock on those who have done work
on this so far.... just posting the issues I've found in hopes of improvement.
Okay, this is my absolute last contribution (glyph-wise)...
I couldn't stand the speed dial and call history icons in, so I created my own...
Attached is a series of the same basic look with different color background colors: black, red, blue, green, and yellow. Guess I could have done white but it's late and I'm tired.
Opps... You have to rename them by removing the "color" and copy/move the files to the \Windows directory.
I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I can't swap out the buttons for call history and speed dial.
When I try to do it from the phone, it says
"Cannot copy ‘spd_lst’:
Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not currently in use."
When I try to do it from my computer through Active Sync / Explore, it says
"Cannot copy ‘spd_lst’:
Access is denied.
Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory that the file is not set as read-only, and that you have permission to copy this file type."
Not only does it not replace the .gif, it makes the one with ETEN disappear (spd_lstg.if is no longer in Windows) and it reverts back to the original blue default icon.
Any suggestions on how to get this to work? I have no problem swapping out the bmps for the dial skins. Just can't get buttons that I like.
anyone?........anyone?........ kinda boring, but I wanted to try one with buttons that looked like they kinda stick out, and had light behind the button. a little 3d. Theres only so much I'm experienced with this doing 3d stuff though. Any comments? Pretty much doing these for you guys now, so if no really likes it, no biggy, I just wont put all the work into finishing. Let me know!!
PS. Sorry about the orange one. I get it out inna couple of days.. Thanks again to all the people who enjoyed the ones Ive already done.

ok, so i cheated a little on this one, but let me know if its ok. I ran all the red files through a filter that changed em to orange. Heres the only problem. on some of the buttons it changed the red phone icon to orange. it still looks pretty good, but if it really bothers you guys, I'll fix it. It just saves alot of time......

Back from a crazy week and uploaded the French ETen Classic Skins to the site.. They come as a request, so for anyone waiting for those, Enjoy.. I have also been meaning to get a few other projects started and finished so in the next few days hopefully you'll see some production on the site.. (new Dialer and Themes.. Oh yes and tweaked Themes)

Did you try changing the attributes on the file? Also don't forget to close your dialer all the way... Either by soft reboot or using VJ's util VJPhoneToggle.

ok, I actually just gotta BRAND NEW ppc6700 from sprint. I dropped my old one and the joystick got stuck. I took it into the store for a repair, but when I went to go pickit up, they had a brand new one right out of the box waitin for me. Yay!! I guess.. I just got my old one the way I like it, and now I gotta do the whole update, registry tweaks, color changes, bla bla bla. I guess I shouldnt complain. . anyway, as soon as the update process is done, Ill put up the orange dialer. Wish me luck!!

OK, Here ya go. Let me know if any problsems occur. This color has not been tested. The red one worked great, so I assume this one will too, considering all the files were filtered from red to orange, but let me know!!
PaulyA, I didn't see the blue and red dialer files attached. I'd love to try em out when you get a chance. Great job. Btwn you and vinscuzzy these all really break new ground. Now if Kokkos would only base his dialers on the Eten skin...(LOL).

Used VJPhone toggle. Attributes for icons (yours, mine, Eten) all have archive checked. After I try to drop the new spd_lst.gif into windows to swap with the Eten spd_lst.gif, it won’t swap and the Eten spd_lst.gif disappears, and only the blue default one is on the dialer. When you look in Windows on the ppc, there is NO spd_lst.gif. It only shows up in Windows when you explore on the PC through Active Sync. And it’s the blue default. That one’s attributes have Read Only, Hidden, and System checked. I can’t find a way to change them, so I guess I can’t have any decent buttons for speed dial and call history. I thought it would be simple like swapping out all the bitmaps for the dialer.
Any more suggestions? Or am I stuck with the Eten ones or the default ones?
The only Skins that work with SD are the Glass Skins.. I have tried to figure out how to edit the Smartdial behavior but I have not had much success with it.. I'm still waiting for the update from XDA-Dev..
