Has anyone had a problem with the EVDO arrows staying one color (either white or grey) after installing the eten dialer? This was the same issue that the kokkos dialer had initally but they fixed it. Seems this dialer has the same problem. In my case, the icons are stuck grey even though data is being transmitted.

Any fix?

Thanks

First I've ever heard of it and I've been using the E-TEN dialer for the better part of a month. By the arrow I assume you mean the backspace?

So they are hidden? Is that in port or landscape mode? Have you tried a soft reset or completely shutting down the phone with this util VJPhoneToggle?

I'm not currently using the Eten dialer, but this used to be a consequence of using it - I don't believe there is a fix.

No... the EVDO arrows that flash from grey to white when data is transfering
over an EVDO connection.

Oh... I guess I hadn't noticed. Mine is grey as well. It is animated when data is being transfered...

It's supposed to go white when transfering data and grey when the connection is idle but still connected. They had the same issue with the kokkos dialer cab but were able to fix it.

really, thanks a lot. you guys are all really great. thanks for all the feeback and compliments.

on another note, as far as the black theme, the top edges of the screen of this dialer are almost black. I have an all black theme as well, and this dialer looks really good with it. (sounds like I'm bragging. sorry) Do you have solid black bars across the top and bottom, or are they the gradient look with black fading to grey in the middle. if they are solid black, I'd give the rak dialer a try!

p.s. Poqeteer. GREAT job on the call history buttons. I was getting very tempted on changing those myself, but you beat me to it, and yours are perfect! got the black ones on my phone right now!!

Yeah... I figured I wasn't the only one. That's too bad as I love the larger
buttons of this dialer. Not a huge issue but one none the less.

Thanks

I do have the solid black bars on my theme. I would love to get my hand on the black rak dialer. Please give it a green light whenever you have the time. TIA.

That's the ONLY reason I'm not using this dialer. I wish there was a fix for it I've posted about it a couple of times but no one seems to know how to fix it, and I haven't found a way either.

oops, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. The woodgrain looking background is almost black on the edges, and looks good with the solid black top and bottom bars. I didn't mean I had another dialer that was black. I have the solid black bars and both of the dialers look good with this setup, both meaning the one I did with the switches/music influence, and the one without. Both of them had the exact same color backgrounds, just different call status screens. The dialers really do look different on the phones compared to just viewing them as jpegs on this forum. the colors don't seem as rich.

I took your word for it and tried out the skin However, I have found a little bug (or is it by design?) in the rak dialer skin. I can't see the back space/delete arrow. By chance, I tab on the black space where the arrow should be and able to delete the incorrect dial number. I won't have any problem using this skin; howerver, if someone borrows my phone, they might have a problem in finding the delete key

no, that's not by design, did you soft reset your phone? that's really kinda strange. everyone of my dialers have used the same white backspace arrow. huh.....?.?...? Which one did you download? ill take a look at the zip files tomorrow. but try a soft reset, if you haven't already. sorry about the mishap!! but we'll fix it!!

OK, it's a bug for sure since it's not by design Take a look at the PcvDialerBkP.bmp file. Also take a look a the first screenshot posted by you in post #207. The portrait shot doesn't have the white back arrow. The landscape shot has it.

Well not exactly. Those are not screenshots from my phone. They are the actual bmps created in photoshop. In the portrait view, it wouldn't show the arrow, as that is a button that overlays on the top of the background screen. In landscape view, it is a separate button. The layout is totally different. I just looked in the original zip files, and the backspace arrow is in there. Its called pcvdialererase.bmp. Check in your phones windows directory and open that file. You'll see a white arrow, with a square black box around it. You'll notice its acually smaller than all the other buttons, cuz its not really a button. Like I said before, it just lays over the dialer background. if you are using phonetoggle or some other app to stop the phone app, this could also be the problem. I use small menu, and sometimes a soft reset is still required for eveything to be reloaded correctly. Try this first if you haven't already. Attached is screenshot taked directly from my phone and the seperate erase arrow.

Thank you very much for trying to help me out. It turned out that I am the doofus There is nothing wrong with your skin. No bug, etc... I guess by installing and testing too many skins has corrupted my phone registry; therefore, it was not able to display the skin correctly. After some frustration, I decided to reinstall the original Eten Dialer Cab again. Tried your rak dialer skin again, and everything is working as the way it should be. I am sorry for for making a fool out of myselft and having you to recheck you work again.
