I think he means it's no longer in beta... the final version was released recently and notification was sent to all slingbox owners who registered before the 26th.

I have not gotten any notification yet. Are you sure they have sent them all out? My beta, however, is still working as of 12.30am.

Thanks!
what is the 'proper' way of uninstalling the beta? I have always have issues uninstalling apps from the PPC.

I originallly installed mobile player by using copying the cab file to the ppc's storage card... I now have the slingmedia noted in ActiveSync. When I try AS's (on pc) Add/Remove by unchecking SlingMedia and selecting "Remove" nothing happens. When I try Remove Programs directly from the PPC, it says/asks "Slingmedia not completely remove, remove from list of programs?" I select "Yes" and do not see any increase in memory. Seems slingmedia is still on my ppc.

ideas?

winger - if you installed via cab file you should use the settings->remove programs applet on the phone itself to uninstall (this is according to the uninstall PDF file on their site). I used this method (followed by a soft reset) and all is well.

Can you tell any noticable differences? Can it stream beyond 250kbps?

Got my code today and already installed it without a hitch. I installed it to my 2GB miniSD card and it ran perfectly! It never asked for the code however. I don't even see a place to enter it.
Oh well, works great though...

That was the most efficient ontime update I have ever seen. This company really has their act together. It loads perfiectly and even removes the old version for you . It does play smoother in the outlying areas of Orlando. Controls are definately upgraded. Very nice job . This is a terrific piece of hardware that really does make your life more enjoyable and I highly reccomend it to all. M Drexler MD

Yes, I was referring to the 1.0 release. I received two e-mails around 2:30 AM EDT. I have seen streaming over 400kpbs routinely via wi-fi. Chill is exactly right about the uninstallation routine.

I sent my info and have been waiting approx. 30 minutes for my codes, etc. Is that normal wait time?

As always with this phone and any software, I am having a problem uninstalling the beta either manually, or through the Sling install process, so I can't install. I tried soft resetting before the uninstall, but still no luck. Can I just manually delete the beta sling folders and then install v 1.0?

Wow, over an hour and still no second email to confirm. I even re-applied and it told me "an email was already sent. For your convenience we will send it again." Hmmm..maybe an AOL server delay, who knows...

As long as your Slingbox was registered and you are using the same e-mail you registered it with you should receive the Registration Key in minutes.
