issues sycing with 4smartphone and PC, error: 85002003

Ok, I am having problems with my activesync on my home pc and the 4smartphone exchange server. I have my activesync set up to sync contacts, email, and calendar with 4smartphone server, and with the pc, notes, favorites, and media. When I go to sync my pc with my ppc-6700 I get an error both on my device and my pc. The error on my pc is in the active sync program saying ... “the server could not be reached. This can be caused by temporary network conditions. Support code: 85002003". Now before I was able to really start the sync I had a window popup asking me for my exchange server user name and password. The same type of window popup window that I get when I open my outlook 2003 on my pc. My outlook on my pc connects with your server just fine and my ppc-6700 connects just fine as well. I’m just not getting them to work together, all three, at the same time. I talked with a friend of mine and he says he has no problem like this and says that it shouldn’t be doing this. The error message on my ppc-6700 says … “cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings.” I have never seen this error message before and feel it is not in my device settings. I can do everything else as far as connecting to the internet for say weather up dates, while connected to activesync. Please help, I love this program 4smartphone, I just need to figure this one problem out.

Thanks, Cody

I emailed them two days ago. no response. I figured I should have asked here first. most of you guys are smarter than any tech support I've talked to.

I am having the same problem with an internal (not hosted) Exchange push email setup. Over the air sync works fine, but when I put the phone in the desktop cradle it no longer syncs to Exchange via network passthrough. It used to do this perfectly. Now I get the "cannot connect with current connection" message on the device and an invitation to "change the connection settings" which leads nowhere as there are no changeable settings for the Exchange connection on the phone that I can see. And I get the 85002003 error message on Activesync on the PC. Turning off the phone radio when on cradle didn't help.

Once OTA Exchange sync is enabled is there some setting that has to be switched in Activesync or on the phone when I want to sync over the cradle? Any help appreciated.

Hey guys, I had this same problem and resetting and turning off doesn't help.

If you go to Start -- > Settings. Go into Phone. Go to the Services tab. Click on Internet and then Get Settings. Click on the Start button in there to initiate a IOTA. This re-provisions the internet and once I did this, I was able to sync again just fine.

Now if this doesn't work and you never were able to sync while you had your phone in the cradle, then its your office/home DNS settings.

Thanks for the suggestion, however a new IOTA didn't fix USB sync for me.

By going into Activesync on the PC, File > Connection Settings, in the box labeled "this computer is connected to" I found that by changing the selection from "Work Network" to either "The Internet" or "Automatic" I can now do a manual sync in the cradle.
