This is how I solved the wireless stereo problem on the sprint 6700 on the latest rom (may also work on the older rom).
1) After you copy the DLL files to the windows directory on the PPC, MAKE SURE you install the Tor_A2DP_cert.cab file first (I did it via the minisd card using file explorer)
2) THEN install the other file: Tornado_A2DP.cab , after you installed the dll's , cab files in the the cert cab than regular cab order, do a soft reset. I now see the wireless stereo option.
On another note: I purchased a SCOSCHE bluetooth bluelife wireless system (at target greatland $99 i know its cheaper on ebay but I had to get it once I heard about a2dp on the 6700) a2dp RCA output jacks to my head unit of my car. I now use A2DP to the car and listen to music from the ppc-6700 with no audio cable!! WAY better then those pesky FM modulators.
I do have a bit of an issue with the SCOSCHE though... at startup, it will start to huccup for the first 5 seconds then plays the song fine...wierd.. but it still works well for what its worth!!!
Here's a pic of the SCOSCHE gadget im talking about...very cool product..
Actually, if you install the two cabs, I don't think you need to copy those other files manually. The Tornado_A2DP.cab installs those files and registry settings for you. The Tor_A2DP_cert.cab file then registers those file certificates with the OS. The file copy is not necessary.
Also, I installed the Tornado_A2DP.cab file first, then the cert cab. It doesn't look like the order matters.
I decided to give this a try on the old rom. Incredibly, I was able to get the "Stereo Bluetooth" option to show up, and connect to my headphones (Plantronics 590a).
Unfortunately, there is only mono sound coming out of the headphones. Unless anyone has any ideas, I guess I'll need to do that rom update after all.
i read about someone getting this to work without the aku 2.0 update - and i read above someone on aku 2.0 not getting it to work - so before i hard reset and try again, then upgrade my rom and try again...here's where i'm stuck at (look at the 2 pictures).
from reading a rather confusing couple of threads on xda-developers.com, i see that the tornado_a2dp.cab should contain the 3 files, the reg edits and the certificate...all bundled into the .cab file to auto install - i think that's the whole point. so you souldn't need more then that.
(as per Khuanchai's post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...=275506#275506 )
if you don't use that .cab file, you can copy the 3 files manually, import the registry file and then run Tor_A2DP_cert.cab
using both methods still gets me the same result as shown in the pics below.
let's figure this out! a2dp for all of us!!

Hmmmm. That's strange. I had the exact same issue ("Enable stereo wireless" option appeared in the checkbox window but not in the "tap and hold" list). But when I installed the Tor_A2DP_cert.cab file and soft reset (I hadn't installed the cert file previously, just the other cab), then all was good again.

IT WORKS!!!!!! STEREO on the Plantronics 590A!!!! I have the new ROM installed also my Sprint 6700. Works like I a champ...
So I have Sirius streaming right now..... sounds great! I Went to make a phone call and it paused the music and made my call. But I couldnt reconnet... but oh well.. I just pressed play again.
I havent tried the fwd/reverse play, etc yet.. I have to actually load some mps3s on my card and test it.
But i'm happy.. this is awesome now that it pairs... the possiblities are endless now....
I have some Schoshe hardware also.... I will have to give it whirl.
FYI... I did install it the way it says in the README file.. it didnt work. here is what I did..
Copied the 3 files it wants to the windows directory
Ran the CAB file from my card
Softreset
Ran the Cab Cert
Softreset
Ran the cab (not cert) again
softreset
Went into my Plantronics profile and did a "refresh" and wireless stereo showed up. Save changes... now right click on plantranics in BT profiles and select wireless stereo.
CHAMP!
It showed up.... go figure..... I think it is some combination of the way the files have to go in. BTW... i did no registry edits.... so for us lamos out there like me who dont know what mobileregistry or whatever it is.... no worries.. not needed.
The 6700 and my 590a let me go about 20 feet with a wall inbetween before it dropped..... good enough for me!
Please post some feedback on your schoshe. I would like to know if you're getting the 5 second "jitter" when starting a song on the schoshe.
And thanks for the heads up on the Plantronics, glad its working in stereo and not mono...

I havent purchased any of the schosche stuff yet.. I have the 100' wireless remote for my ipod and it works great... I bought it for $10.00 on ebay. Im hoping to get the bluetooth adapter for my car/boat and try it then. Potential.. I could just use my 6700, run sirus over bt in my car or boat... not even need the hardware from Sirius.
The plantronics.. i havent got it work on my pc.. I get mono or crappy sound.... i think it's my bluetooth adapter and software, but I bailed on it.
when you do this, are you deleting and pairing your headset each time or just leaving it paired and the option appears and disappears?
thanks,
-jeff
Good question...between the first try and the second try, I deleted the device from the 6700, did a soft reset and ran the cab files in the new order (cert first then regular cab), did another soft reset, then paired the devices, all of a sudden the wireless stereo appears when I tap and hold the device, this did not happen the other way around.
ALSO, on a side note, I am still using the "old skool" sprint ppc-6700, the one with the white LED's, not blue...running the updated ROM... best of luck...

My range is great on the Logitech stereo headphones for ipod ( They are white in color) I think they market a black set for (Mp3). I works all the way through the office and into the kitchen. Pretty impressive for me. My reg bt headset does not go that far with the walls in between.
wow - glad to know this works, spinedoc - i assume you are on the updated rom? i'm giving up on the old one now...gonna have to update real soon...
i deleted the 3 .dlls, uninstalled the program, deleted my paired headset and then soft reset. then i followed the instructions of both tommer12 and olywogle and still had the same problem.
i'd still like to know exactly how alnyden got it working with the old rom...very strange.

Tried this with the iphone imini's, works!!! Only problem is my audio stutters, even thru WMP, any suggestions?
Validate that wifi is turned off while testing. You have the Bluetake i-Phono mini right? I would like to pick these up depending on if yours work or not. Also please validate that the mini's use the same mini-b usb charge plug as our phones.
Interesting, order does matter on my sprint 6700. I simulated the issue again:
First try:
the "non cert" cab first then "cert cab" then soft reset = no option for wireless stereo
Second try:
the "cert" cab first then "no cab" then soft reset = the option for wireless stereo appears.
I did this simulation again thinking it would help fix the 5 min huccup problem.
again, fwiw...

Could be the way we have our individual phones configured, software installed etc. Also, my install procdure was to run the non cert cab, reboot, paired stereo headphones, but it did not work (check box for stereo appeard in config, but did not get the wireless stereo enable option in the tap and hold list for the device). Installed the cert cab, rebooted again, then it worked (the tap and hold menu had the right options this time, didn't even have to re-pair the device).
I have a Jabra BT 500. The Set as Wireless Stereo feature is grey out. I cannot select it. Is it because the Jabra cannot support this feature or am I doing something wrong?
I copied the 3 files to the Windows folder. I install the 2 cab files with soft reset.
I did get it "working" in that I saw the "stereo" option, but there is no stereo stound coming from the headphones, only mono, so it's not really working. (So close!)
I followed the method of copying over the 3 dll's first, then installing the cert cab, then the Toronado cab.

I had this also... I went into the Plantronics Headset Profile I had.... click on refresh and all of a sudden "hands Free" was there.. but then "wireless stereo" showed up. I checked mark both boxes and "save". Paired my headphones back up and it worked.
motorola 820 works, I just bought one to try yesterday after this hack. Sound is pretty good, definately stereo. The ht 820 is so awesome because you can plug it in with a regular 3.5mm cable as well but my god it is so uncofortable on my ears, its like part of the band presses behind my ear and it physically hurts the back of my ear. Also the cans are HUGE, Princess Leia huge. It looks ridiculous for outside everyday use. But function wise its awesome, you can make and take calls, and I played some high quality dvd rips in tcmp at 640x300 resolution using it and it had minor frame skips but was definately watchable and playable!
I think my ppc 6700 is now complete, its the only feature I was bummed they did not include in the first place. I just have to find a way to make the ht 820 not hurt my ears so it can be my primary headphone for my pc and ppc 6700 because it is definately the most versatile bluetooth stereo headsets out.
Maybe the next version can have smaller cans, caller id (nokia one out, earbud style with caller id) and be foldable. I can dream .......
PS.
The BT500 is a bluetooth HEADSET not a bluetooth HEADPHONE. Small clue but headphones have 2 CHANNELS. If what you are pairing has only one earpiece, it obviously aint a HEADPHONE and a2dp doesnt come into play.
If you own a ppc 6700 I would expect a certain amount of technological knowledge, I mean how do you navigate that thing if you think the bt 800 can give you stereo sound, its like..........
