On a regular headset like the h700 or hs850 does stereo make a difference like is it worth doing if you are only listening to music thru the audio gateway.
Regular headsets won't see any advantage, only stereo ones. Especially since a regular phone headset only has one earpiece to begin with. The stereo affect is somewhat lost with only one earpiece
WOW.
Finally figured out my problem. I just needed to uninstall the MSI player software first. DOH!
No wonder it sounded poor. It was MONO in both ears.
Anyway, the ANYCOM/SONORIX brand headphones are great!
Nice! Major props to the xda folks (looks like Tornado users this time) and to the OP for the heads-up.
A bit of a mixed bag for me though. It works perfectly on my HP (Logitech) headphones, and the sound quality is fantastic. However on my brand-new Globaltech BTH-820 the SQ is atrocious and the AVRCP seems to be having issues. I need to troubleshoot it some more, but in the meantime if anyone else is using the BTH-820 with the 6700 please report your results.

Least I Can Do (posting and being the guinea pig) since I just got a severance package after many years with sprint. Thanks to the sprint nextel merger. I hope it was worth it.
Sprint....Together with nextel.........at least for the next couple years until Nextel is sold to the Department of Defense. Muaaahahahah
I just need to get on SERO now since i will be loosing my EDRP plan
on the other note:
One issue Im seeing now with a2dp is xvid file over WIFI with A2dP sound is stuttering ..Might be Processor limmitation or bandwidth confliction. THere are reports that the a2dp causes your wifi signal to deminish. Mine still shows very strong though. I really didnt wait 30 secs though to let it stabilize. This was mentioned with TCPMP. Im using an .80 build of TCPMP though. Not .72. Ill tool around with it some more.
I too listened to my A2DP with aac and mp3 files last night for about an 45 minutes. Good news. 10% battery depletion with screen off. Those blue lights were blinding though between the headset and the pda on the nightstand.
Dont worry. Someone over at xda has figured out how to make generic patches that work for most wm5 roms. I can explain the technical details but its being done. On a side not there has been some recent sucess without the AKU2.0 rom implementation mentioned. Follow those xda threads. You will see someone did it on a model without the rom update.
Have you tried it btw or you just sitting on the fence.
On a side note,
Sprite has has a new 5.1 release that fixes and adds feautures. They now have self-extracting backup images. I missed those from WM2k3
Give er a try with the telus and alltell pdas. Lets see what happens. Im sure they will get the update soon though. MS is pushing them through slowly but surely. I think the sprint will get another one soon too, HTC will come through i feel, just a little off schedule.
I tried the instructions posted here -- it installed fine, no problems, paired and everything, "Wireless Stereo" appeared... but there was no "Set as Wireless Stereo" option. I soft reset, unpaired, repaired, still nothing.
I'm sorry if this causes clutter, but I'm really interested. Has anyone used a pair of these headphones, and received a call? Is the call immediatley transfered the the headphones? And does it come out of both ears?
Question for those who have installed and are using this A2DP patch:
Does this circumvent the low volume issue between 6700/BT headsets? What I really want to know is can you jack up the ringer volume channeled through the HS and/or use custom ringers (as opposed to the native BT ringer-built in and WAY too quiet)?

I will look into the threads at xda some more.

I think I'm running into the same problem as Avatar-X and jeffreii. Here's my install method:
Dragged & dropped all three .dll files to my 6700 main windows folder via activesync.
Dragged & dropped the tornado a2dp CAB file to my docs folder, ran it, and it appeared to install.
Did the same as above with Certs CAB file, and it appeared to install fine.
Soft reset
Went through pairing - password process with my i-phono BT420ex stereo headset. Upon completion, it only shows serial or hands free options. However, if I highlight the BT420, under the bluetooth device edit settings, there is a grayed out "set as wireless stereo" setting.
Not sure why it will not work here, as I"m running the updated Sprint ROM, and verified that all the registry additions are in the correct places. Maybe it's just this specific model stereo bluetooth headset. D'oh! Anyway, if anyone sees a problem with my install method or has some other insight, any help would be really appreciated.
has anyone got the Plantronics 590A to connect? I downloaded the ZIP file... copied the files to my \windows directory.... installed the cab file, did a soft reset, but I still don't see the Stereo option on my 590a profile.
Moto HT820/sprint ppc6700 w/aku2 here. Works great with a few quirks I've noticed.
There is no way to quickly connect. To connect you have to go to the bluetooth manager click and hold the hold the headset name and choose set as wireless stereo . It works pretty well once you are connected.
I have noticed that if I have the WIFI on, the audio starts skipping. As soon as I turn it off the problem goes away. This is a problem when using orb. I could barely stand the skipping it got so bad. Maybe this is just me? (I hope)
You can tell easily tell if you have a stereo connection by bringing up the connection status bubble. It will show a headset with a music note in the middle if you are connected.
The remote controls in WMP are SWEET!
A phone call pauses the music. Press the multifunction button and take the call. Press the mulifunction button again to hang up and the music starts up again (after about 10 sec.)
All in all THIS IS THE BEST MOD i HAVE MADE TO THE PHONE!!!!
Thanks to all who worked on it and brought it to our forum!
i read about someone getting this to work without the aku 2.0 update - and i read above someone on aku 2.0 not getting it to work - so before i hard reset and try again, then upgrade my rom and try again...here's where i'm stuck at (look at the 2 pictures).
from reading a rather confusing couple of threads on xda-developers.com, i see that the tornado_a2dp.cab should contain the 3 files, the reg edits and the certificate...all bundled into the .cab file to auto install - i think that's the whole point. so you souldn't need more then that.
(as per Khuanchai's post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...=275506#275506 )
if you don't use that .cab file, you can copy the 3 files manually, import the registry file and then run Tor_A2DP_cert.cab
using both methods still gets me the same result as shown in the pics below.
let's figure this out! a2dp for all of us!!
