Hello All. Just purchased a Verizon VX6700. I want to use A2DP headset to stream audio via Media Player to my Bluetooth headset. I am a GOOD PC person, but this is all new to me. I think I have the wrong install files to complete my task. One member stated that there are two .CAB files I need. I downloaded a ZIP files that contained 3 DLLs, 1 TXT, 1 REG, and another ZIP within. The file was called: A2DP. This file unzipped to Tornado_A2DP. If possible would someone PLEASE explain the ENITIRE process in Layman’s terms? I am new to ACTIVESYNC. One of the post referred to copying files to the VX6700 WINDOWS folders via activesync. Under activesync, I never see the WINDOWS folder. If someone would point out everything step by step, from where to download necessary files, HOW AND WHERE to install them. Thanks in advance. Verizon VX6700
Did you download the a2dp.zip file from the 2nd post in this thread? In that zip file, upon opening it, there is a cab file and another zip file. That cab file is the first cab you need and then if you open that secondary zip file, it will have the 2nd cab file you need. Copy the 2 cab files over to your 6700 any way you can, through Activesync, by using your storage card, whatever is easiest for you. To use Activesync, simply hit the "Explore" button in the Activesync window, then double-click on the "My Windows Mobile-Based Device" icon and you will see the Windows folder. Once you have the two cab files on your 6700, run them each from the 6700 itself (not from your PC), put the phone in and out of flight mode, then soft reset the 6700. You need to run one of the cab files first so as I mentioned to you over PM, please read the first couple pages of this thread to figure that out. It is really a very simple process, you just need to please take the time to really read this entire thread (please don't just skim through it) and it will become very clear the steps you need to take to get A2DP working.
So... I tried to find an answer to this, but after reading the first 10 pages I ran out of time. =)
Anywho, I have my car set up with a Logitech Wireless Music System. That way, I can plug the dongle into my Zune or Archos and go wireless.
I can also connect my PPC6700 to the receiver via A2DP (obviosly without the dongle). The only problem is that if the PPC6700 stops playing audio for a few seconds (aprox. 5), the connection breaks, and I have to push the Connect button on the receiver to reconnect. This can get pretty annoying, since sometimes when listening to streaming audio the connection breaks before the stream starts.
This doesn't happen with the dongle, which stays connected for several minutes if no audio is going through it. It also doesn't happen when I use the Logitech Wireless Headphones with the PPC6700. It's only when using the PPC6700 with the Logitech Wireless Music System receiver. So... the question is: Is there a way to stop the connection from breaking up so soon? Has anybody else experienced something similar, even with diff. equipment?
I am stranded at the Charlotte, NC airport trying to go home, but I am in the market for new BT Stereo headsets.
I went ot the Palm store here and paired a new BT sports headset (not S9s but some other brand Blue....tek or something).
Anyway, I started WMP playing a song off my storage card and it was SKIP CITY. (I stopped all apps except for the player).
Is it just finding a set that works, or does WMP skip and I should've tried TCMPMP?
I know everyone here has it working so it must work, right?
Has anyone found a hack, or app that will allow you to select between handsfree and wireless stereo on the today screen? Or to assign a button to toggle between the two?
I'm looking for the same thing... It there a way I can assign a button (like the IE button) to automatically turn on the wireless stereo. Whenever I get a call or something, it shuts off the stream and i have to go back into settings and turn it back on. It sucks when I'm driving and this happens.
I got this working with my Motorola DC800. It doesn't have very good range, but I got a good deal on it, so I'm satisfied... other than having to keep turning it on.
-edit-
I just downloaded mortscripter and used Run("\Windows\ctlpnl.exe", "cplmain.cpl,23") to get to bluetooth settings then made clicks where it needed. I put that script in the programs folder, assigned it to a key, and I'm all set... Sorry if I got off topic
I read through this all and it is NOT clear what is needed to do if you have the verizon6700. Do I need to update the ROM?? THEN install the files way back on the 1st page?
What would be easier in this forum is if there was a Sprint6700 instructions and a Verizon6700 instruction, step by step for each, each in its own thread..each thread LOCKED. Just the instructions. If people want to ask question, maybe have a question thread for each. Just an idea.
I've done pretty much everything (.dll's, cabs) to get a2dp working on my VW xv6700. I'm SOOO close. What I can't get it - how to properly edit my registry with the code that was given. I believe there was some .reg file that I tried importing with Resco's registry editor, but it bombed out.
Can someone help me with the step-by-step procedure to edit the registry without making a brick out of my pda? I've done some reg editing on my desktop so I'm not scared to do it, but I don't know what goes where and is it a string or this or that. Thanks in advance!
