Wow thanks--how did I miss that? Read the whole thread too--though after 11 pages, the mind gets a bit numb...
It would figure--I use wisbar, and I would not want to manually start it every time. Maybe I'll turn it off temporarily to see if this helps with the stuttering I get with the Scosche receiver. If it works, I guess I can always have it do a delayed startup with that neat little autostart program--forgot what that was called.
First off thanks to the XDA developers that got A2DP going. I was even more appreciative when I got it working within a 1/2 hour last night and was streaming music without a problem.....
However, I've tried to stream music again and it will only play the first second then no music. I have the XV6700 with the ROM update, both cabs installed, and all registry entries verified. My BT head set is the MSI FS300, which is paired and I can set it as a wireless stereo.
Like I said, it was working last night and I get everything to start to work today, but the music streaming capability seems to take a dump now. I've read this entire post and see others have had this issue, but can't seem to find a resolution ever posted.

I have found that when you hear nothing at the start of a song, if you just wait 15-20 seconds, it starts playing, and then if you skip back to the begining it will usually play correctly.
When you had it playing without any problems, are you certain it was actually paired in Stereo, and not mono (sound will still come from both sides, but fidelity is lacking). You will find that with the current hack, the headset will revert back to mono often - usually everytime it pairs with the phone. In mono, it will stream all day without any skipping ( I know, I made this mistake my self). In Stereo, every player I've tried has issues to some extent. It is almost a fantastic solution - and once/if this issue gets figured out it will be great.
If you're having trouble, pair in stereo while nothing is playing and media player is closed. Then give it a shot. It should work right off.
This is how I get the best results as well. Also, make sure you don't have your WiFi on at the same time as trying to listen to stereo BT - at least for me that combo results in non-stop stuttering, regardless of the player being used.
Has anyone found a hack, or app that will allow you to select between handsfree and wireless stereo on the today screen? Or to assign a button to toggle between the two?
I'm running xv6700 on updated rom, I installed the two tornado apps and for some reason it's basically working flawlessly (yes it intially takes a about 10 sec. to get going) on my Jabra bt 620s . The only complaint I have is that VC doesn't work right in stereo, so I need to keep wireless stereo unchecked unless I'm wanting to listen to music. It's not a big deal to go into the connection settings and change this, but it would be basically perfect if there were a super easy way of doing this.
Not only will the 'headphones-with-a-musical-note' symbol appear, but you should hear the 'inflbeg' tone (rising ring) once the headphones connect. That will be the audible clue, in case the screen is outside.
When I first started using my Jabrq BT620s, I always received the audible connection tone when paired in stereo, as noted above. I'm not sure what 'inflbeg' is, but I no longer get that when paired in stereo. I still get the headphones with a musical note symbol, but the connection tone has dissapeared. I've done several hard-resets and a re-flash of the AKU2 ROM, and the tone is still gone.
I'm assuming this must be a registry item. Can anyone point me to where or how the connection tone can be enabled?
Thanks,
Chris
EDIT:
I called Verizon, and they instructed me how to do a 'Factory Reset' by holding both left and right '-' buttons while pressing the reset button.
Did this, ran the two cabs (Tornado then Cert), and my Jabra BT620s wouldn't pair in stereo.
Did another Factory Reset, ran the two A2DP cabs (Tornado then Cert) re-paired the BT620s, and it connected in stereo, and provided the connection tone. Whew...a lot of work for something so simple!

Well out of the blue it started working today. I can confirm that it is stereo and not in mono tone. The time that the headset wasn't working with WMP, even waiting >30 seconds didn't make a difference. WIFI was not on at any of my trials. I haven't installed or reinstalled anything either, but I guess as long as it continues to work I won't complain.
[edit] I finally figured out that I didn't have my BT headset in the correct "mode". It has a skype mode, which apparently doesn't work with stereo stuff too well. Once I figured that out, it works without a problem.

iamwhoiam, what they are referring to--if you downloaded the file from the first post in this thread, there are two .cab files, one ending in _cert, and the other does not. (One of them is inside the second zip file within the posted archive.) You must install both of these in order for the hack to work. Also I think you will need to soft reset. If your headset is already in the list, try deleting it and re-pairing. If all goes right, it should work.
Oh, and I can confirm that manually copying the .dlll files is unnecessary, just run the two cab files. I did another hard reset this weekend to clear up some problems, and this time only ran the two cabs. Still works.
So, to summarize (?)...you download the "Tornado_A2Dp.cab" and "Tornado_A2Dp_cert.cab" files to your PC. Then run them to install via your next ActiveSync session, and you're done!? You don't need to copy the dll files? ...correct? ...And you don't need to edit your registry, ...correct?
I'm sorry, but I've been reading these posts for days and cannot quite get the exact procedure down. I've just purchased Verizon 6700 and the DS970 bluetooth headset, I'm trying to install and don't want to brick my phone. Some say you NEED the dll's .....some mention editing the registry -- others don't. Can someone please "briefly" summarize the process?
Open Bluetooth Settings and establish pairing - (make sure you first delete any instances already there for your stereo headphones)
Select Finish/OK until you are back at the list of all Bluetooth paired devices. Press and hold on the Bluetooth Stereo headphone and select 'Stereo'
Turn off your WiFi radio if it is on.
Select a music player and you should be listening in Stereo - startup of WMP will likely be choppy or silent for the first 15-30 seconds of the first song. Pocket Player works better, but both will occasionaly skip.
You might want to search for and install the Bluetooth Toggle app that keeps the headset in Audio Gateway mode vs Headset mode so that if you answer a call, the Audio Gateway should stay open.
Thanks a lot! I just gave this a try. When I open the a2dp zip file and click on the cab files....they are "zip" files too....what am I missing as far as "installing these through ActiveSync?" ...Anyone?
You have to move the cab files onto the phone using the explore function in ActiveSync. Once on the phone (save to your mini-sd card if you have one), use the File Explorer on the 6700 to locate the cab file, and simply click it once - it will then launch the installer on the phone - say Yes to the 'unsigned' or what ever the warning message is and select if you want to install to the phones main memory or to your storage card. I suggest for this program that you install it to the phones main memory if you have room for it.
When i install this tornado cab and do all the steps involved, will i be able to see the option os stereo headset in the bluetooth manager even without a stereo headset???? Thanks

Yes you will, but the option will be 'greyed' out and unselectable. (I did this with the Jabra BT200 and saw it, so I'm not blowing smoke at you.)
With the current prices of BT stereo headsets, it's a shame not to take the plunge and go Stereo! You can keep the mono headset for when you're driving and enjoy music at other times.

You can have them both paired, but the one 'Set as Hands-Free' will be the only one to react to a call. the best bet is to switch it to the one you're going to wear at the time. That way, the ring will go through to the one you're using. Use something like the 'O2 plus' patch to have a quick access to the BT settings and switching won't be a problem.
Fortunately, I don't drive, so I gave away all my Mono headsets. I don't have these problems now, but I had them before; so I can help you there, but I do suggest that you don't use the stereo headset while driving. While they don't stop all outside sound, they blunt down enough that it'd be dangerous to try and use them while driving.
Other than that, have fun!

Centauress, what is the '02 plus' patch? As stated above, this patch will give quick access to the BT settings? Is this patch only available for the Spring PPC6700?
