Try this one-

I've played around with a bunch of different dialers and the E-Ten original is my favorite, with lots of nice polished looking skins to choose from. You can find it in this post over at HoFo, and the first poster's screen shots are accurate. It's how my xv-6700 looks now!

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=886355&page=1&pp=15

The only drawback is that the smartdialer (the small drop-down list of phone numbers as you're dialing) is non-existent. To be honest, I haven't missed it at all. The combination of having voice command and the bigger numbers of this dialer far outweigh the negative of no smartdial. Plus, it works beautifully in portrait and landscape. I downloaded the gray skin and it's really sweet looking and a nice compliment to the black todaytheme/Vista_lite theme for Wisbar Advance, but all the colors are nice and polished and should fit your today theme of choice. The changes to the in call layout are also a huge plus IMO.

All in all, after trying Kokkos, and teh E-TEn w/Smartdialer, the one found in the link above is my favorite in terms of looks and functionality. I guess you'd call it the original E-Ten? Anyway, i highly recommend checking it out, and while you're results may vary, I've been able to uninstall this dialer and try others without issue. Many kudos to Jakaroe808 over at HoFo and other who worked on this. ~Chris

Can anyone verify--

Are the "Call History" and "Speed Dial" buttons behind the SmartDial drop down on the pic shown? I checked xda and didn't seem to find them....are they just missing?

Yes they are under the smartdial. One thing I do like about this version (maybe I was missing a setting on the smart dialer before) but when the smartdial drops down, it doesn't cover the numbers. Before I installed it, if there were several entries, the smartdial would drop down an cover all the numbers so I couldn't continue punching in a # without minimizing the smartdialer.

Please display pics first. Can I use this with any color skin for the dialer as long as it is Eten?

Also does it support landscape as of yet?

And, is this verified compatible with the smart-dialer in the new rom?
(if so, I'm so there!)

I cannot install; I keep getting the "unsuccessful" error. I tried Uninstalling Kokkos-and that worked...but the problem I think is that I cannot uninstall the smart-dialer (do I have to?). Still messing with it...

I REALLY like the looks of it though...

Does this one suffer from the EVDO icon not working properly as the others have? I'd love to start using this but can't deal with not being able to tell when my phone is sending data.

I was bored so I went ahead and installed it. Still the same issue: the network activity icon stays lit the entire time.

I have the Sprint 6700 with the new ROM and I love this big number dialer. The orange motif looks very cool and it's easy to press the large keys. I've never used the smart dialer function so I'm glad it isn't incorporated.

I installed this version with smartdialer, and then replaced the bmp's with the orange skins of the Eten dialer with NO smartdialer support. Only problem I find is the blue digits and the orange digits appear simultaneously. Which bitmap file is it that has the bluedigits, so I can delete this file, leaving nothing but the orange skin, on the smartdialer version?

I don't think the digits are controlled by .bmps. I think they are an internal call in the .dll or a registry setting. You can read this entire thread to find out more:

EDIT-5-9-06

I got this to work. I had to use a different version of the Eten w/Smartdialer that Geo over at XDA made for me. If you are having install problems, this helped me a lot. Check out thread link.

I have uploaded 3 files:

1) Screenshot of SmartDial+EtenSkinPortret_v2.zip

2) The SmartDial+EtenSkinPortret_v2.zip works the best! This one uses System fonts for the numbers and letters, rather than pictures.

3) The SmartDial+EtenSkinPortretD_v2.zip works good but the #'s may mess up with overlays.

I would go with the one with the system fonts, they look good and they dont mess up because of any overlay.

Thanks to Geo77 in mother Russia for an awesome job with this add-on.
