what is miniSD used for? any GPS software? comes with case? todo list for XV6700?

Hey all, just ordered my XV6700 from Verizon today, should be here on Thursday or Friday. I spent about 5 hours last night doing research into phones before deciding on this one, and a couple more hours on this specific phone. I know alot of stuff now, but I have a few questions.

1. What, exactly, is the mini-sd storage used for? I'm planning on using Orb to stream all my audio and video to my phone when I want it, so I'm not going to be putting any of that type of media on my phone (excpet for ringtones). Is it required for storage, or is it optional? If it's optional, how much storage does the XV6700 have?

2. Any GPS software for this? I did a search on the forum and the only thing I could find is for the Sprint version, no GPS, no did not give any indication for the Verizon.

3. I read the ~todo~ list for the sprint phone, I assume most of it is the same. Anything diffrent or can you point me to the Verizon version of that thread?

4. Does it come with a case? I know I want one, but i'd rather try out the orginal before I order a new one.

If anyone has any answers or any tips that are handly, please let me know.

Thanks

1. The Mini SD is simply for storage of your files or you can install and run programs off the memory card to save space on your device. It's not like Compact Flash or SDIO where you can add peripherals to it like a TV/Radio tuner, barcode scanner etc. It's simply for memory. It is optional but if you plan on taking photos or videos with the phone I'd recommend you get one because you'll find that you run out of space really quickly. ORB is nice but you're not in EVDO coverage you probably wouldn't enjoy watching shows or listening to music over a 1X connection so the memory card would come in handy to watch a show or listen to some tunes.

2. I'm not certain about GPS software for the xv6700 as I already have GPS in my car and so haven't done any research into it. But I am sure Pocket CoPilot Live and TomTom would be compatible with most bluetooth GPS receivers.

3. In terms of a todo list for the Verizon version I don't think there's anything you need to remove persay but I'd recommend the registry wifi hack and if you really need it the registry time sync hack.

4. The verizon version does come with a leather sleeve case for the phone so you can slip it into your pocket or briefcase but you can't wear it on your belt. For that you can check out the official Verizon version or the Sedio version.
