has any had problems with their Smart Dialer??? everytime I dial a number it drops down that screen and starts to through my contacts.. (which is supposed to) But it's freakin slow.... if I turn it off, dialing works great.

Actually, I have that problem with the dialer with smart dialing on or off......I hit a number and it takes a few seconds for it to show up on the screen.....

I hate that phenomenon so much I couldn't stand it. I got pocket hack master. I am overclocking to 624mhz and the lag goes away considerably. But battery life is kaka overclocked.

Just wondering - how may contacts do you have? It is snappy on my phone (takes about 1/4 second or less to come up after I press a button) but I only have 50 or 60 contacts total for it to look through.

just upgraded to the new rom...haven't installed anything except sunnysoft backup and added my 127 contacts and when i hit the first number/letter on my keypad, the smartdialer comes up pretty much instantly. must be your phone ie. what you have installed, running, free memory, etc.

This is actually kind of odd. I installed the "vibrating keys" cab found here: http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/s...Vibrating+keys

and now the dialer works like it should. Whatever was wrong, that cab must have fixed it. I only had about 30 contacts, and had 20 megs for programs and 15 for storage available. Hopefully this will help someone else as well.

Thanks for the find. I hate the vibrate, but it makes my phone run 10 times faster. If any one can find a hack that just speeds up the phone that would be great!

Wow, it worked. I have about 600 contacts in mine... and now with the vibrate program, it works perfect. I changed to Keypad "off" and it does not vibrate everytime you press a key. But interesting hack.

now.. if sprint can just release that next ROM pack that fixes the forums grips..... bluetooth, smart dial, gps....... so close.....

oh well.. we can just keep hacking and backing up our phones!
