possible for caller to hear something other than standard ring??
Has anyone ever tried to use something other then just the ringing sound. I have called people and heard comedians, or music. Is this something that we can do with the 6700.
^they did at one time. I have been looking on their site for a while now, but I cannot find it. "Call Tones are generally priced at $1.50 or $2.50 for 90 days of unlimited use. There are no additional monthly charges or access fees, as long as you have Sprint PCS VisionSM service."

I called Sprint and they said that it doesn't work on the 6700. Can anyone tell me if the are correct or did the analyst just not know what ther were talking about?
I work for Verizon Wireless and in our system it doesnt matter what phone you have its just something you have on the account.. I would imagine it is the same for sprint.
i had call tones with my sanyo 9000 then when i esn swapped to the 6700 i still had it till it expired so basically if you have a spare phone on sprints call tones list you can get it if you esn swap to it and choose the call tones you want and then esn swap back
edit: i dont know why but sprint likes to act as if its a phone feature...but its definately not
I was going to say, someone had swapped over from an older phone and still had the option on his Sprint.com manage page. Might try searching for his post.
There is no need for a ringer service or to get custom ringers, the phone doesnt need that. God bless it. You can use any sound bite you want to use. Just make a sound in .wav format and copy it to your phone in the \Windows\Rings folder. No need to "buy" anything. You can use anything you want to. Much better than most other phones. Just need any old sound editor and a sample sound that you want. Or just search the net for .wav files you can use. Tons of sites have sound clips for shows, movies, songs, etc.
Once you put the sound clip in the "Rings" Folder, it will show up as an option in your phone ringer selection area (In Phone area like you are about to dial, just select menu at the bottom right and hit options).

They are not talking about the phone ringer. They are talking about what you would hear over the phone when you call them.

WOW! Miscommunication here!

Anyway the reason PPC-6700 users cannot get the Call Tones is because they need to be Downloaded from the Vision main website and then they will be applied to the account. Unless someone knows of a way for us to get to that site from our phones then we are SOL.
I personally would love to have this feature.

The ESN swap to be able to buy call tones is because the 6700 doesn't have a content manager. The thing about doing an ESN swap, subscribing to call tones, then swapping back is that if you want to turn it off, you'd have to do another ESN swap again.
