I get 2 bars on a roaming network but when I make a call, it cancels immediately and I get a pop up message that says data roaming prohibited. I guess the data connection is cancelling the phone. Is there a way to disable checking for the internet so I can make some phone calls? Anyone else have this problem? I have the always on hack on.

Go to Active sync and select schedule. Make sure that the "Use above settings when roaming" checkbox is unchecked. This will prevent activesync from syncing when roaming.
