Pictures & Videos Freezes up My 6700 after ROM update

So I installed the new firmware that sprint put out and started testing all my applications. The first thing I noticed is that my phone immediately freezes when I go from camera to pictures and Videos by clicking the box in the camera. Also, if I just go straight in (Programs -> Pictures & Videos) it freezes. So basically, I cannot open Pictures & Videos without it freezing and causing me to have to soft reset. Thus, I can't view my pictures without usinga different program, however Resco's utility is soo much better I don't mind. The part that ticks me off is that I can't associate a picture to my contacts since it brings up "pictures & videos. Two Questions:
1.) Does anyone know what might be causing this?
2.) Does anyone know of a registry hack that will possibly let me redirect that button, or any program that uses "Pictures & Videos" to a different program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Brian

My phone was freezing when I went to Pics & Videos. I started deleting programs and found the cause was a task switcher I was using called InClose Mobile. If you're running third party apps, you might want to try uninstalling them (one at a time) to determine if one of them is causing the problem.

Resolution.... well Kinda!

Well after sitting back and thinking through my processes, I finally found what the problem was. My company utilizes software from a company called Notifylink to incorporate push technology from our groupwise servers. Well, it just so happens that that when uninstalled, my pics and videos program runs fine.

The moral of this story: If you start to run into freezing issues, don't do a hard reset, start uninstalling programs to see if you can figure out which one is causing the problems.

Thanks for everyones help, private messages and whatnot!

B

We also use Notifylink and discovered this issue a few weeks ago. It has been reported to Notify. They indicate that there is a dll version conflict between their app and the Pictures & Videos app (they say that the P&V is not up to date on a dll).

Things worked fine through beta 4 or 5 of the Notify WM5 client and then this issue appeared.

I would encourage you to report the problem to Notify as well (330-702-3070 is their tech support number). Maybe it will pressure them for a fix!

Glad I was able to help! I tried Magic Button after Inclose, but found that the 6700 became too sluggish. I went to a free app called Switch (http://www.hfrmobile.com/app_Switch_T1/index.htm) and it has been working well for me.

Well this is happening to me now. I don't have inClose or Notifylink. The only program I've installed since the last time I successfully used Pictures and Videos app is Microsoft Live Search.

Of course I could uninstall that program and see if that's the conflict, but I'm too lazy. Just curious if any other Microsoft Live Search users are running into this same problem. Let me know, thanks.

Thanks guys. My pictures not opening has been bugging me for months. Today I decided I would fix the issue. This thread was the first hit in the search. I removed Inclose, and it fixed the problem.

when I installed E-Ten skins I had to rename mfc80u.dll to mfc80uu.dll or something eise in order to get my pics and videos to stop freezing. Try renaming that file to see if it resolves the issue.
