In store inspection of 6700 - anything I can quickly check before buying??

Getting the PPC-6700 in a couple of days from Sprint. The store is about 4 blocks from my home but i'm wondering if there is anything to quickly check while in the store that could be a hassle to return like maybe dead pixels, PRL update(still reading up on this),etc. Thanks!

You can check for dead/stuck pixels pretty easily. The first time I loaded the camera app on my I noticed a stuck green pixel. It is minor so I just lump it. PRL is ##786# also see the rom version and if it is refurb. Nothing really that needs to be checked in my opinion except for maybe the pixels.

Make sure the headset is included. My friend just got one and when he got home found the stero headset was not in the box.
There should be:
Stero headset
2 stylus
carrying case
phone
battery
instruction booklet
CD

Turn on the phone, make sure the screen looks right and has no 'dead pixels'.

My friend is also complaining about a screen alignment issue - which I seen thread about it here but I haven't read any of them - I don't seem to have the problem.

Make sure that the stylus clicks into place.

Also make sure that the slide out keyboard also clicks closed.

My first device had issues with both.

The new replacement I just got (new logo) has a bit brighter screen than the original and the slider is MUCH more secure. The current product is great (except the blue keyboard lights--but mine are quite bright so not too bad).

Screen Alignment and keyboard stylus test

Test also the screen alignment, open up notepad and then start typing on the mini qwerty keyboard with stylus. Make sure after screen alignment is completed you are able to click accurately every letter and puctuation. I've been having alighment problems after few months now, even after some soft reset and hard reset. Thinking about getting it replaced.

Not sure what the code is for VZ users. Maybe just ##786? I've heard maybe #*786...not sure...

Search for Verizon # codes.
