Lightbulb possible to get SOME improvement in speaker volume by removing the little "mirror"??

I have a thought...since:

1) The speaker is located behind the little "self portrait mirror" on the back of the handset,

and

2) The "self portrait mirror" is kind of a joke, something that I could care less about...

Might it be possible to get SOME improvement in speaker volume by removing the little "mirror"?

I pose this question especially toward the folks who have already seen the inside of their handset.

Being one of the people who have delved into the depths of the PPC-6700, I can say that what you propose is possible. But be careful. You don't want to remove too much. You wouldn't want to sacrifice the safety of your speaker to improve its volume. I think cutting another slot along the other side of the mirror would probably work pretty well. A 'mirrored' slot? hehe.

Has anyone seen how the mirror is attached? Is it possible to simply snap it out (so it could be put back if required)?
