Dang... I thought I could delete all the items in my ROM, but upon a soft reset they all reappeared... I was getting excited there for a minute. I guess the 'ROM' is what it says it is... a ROM... rats. I don't install anything from verizon when I hard reset... don't need it... and the phone runs great!

Some of them are straightforward, but for a lot of them I have no idea whether I should have them installed or not. I am planning to do a hard reset and then soft reset before they have a chance to run - then install only the cabs that make sense to install. As a general rule I don't want to install any junk. Can people post their experiences/reccomendations? Thanks in advance!

Extended ROM contents in Verizon XV6700 w/ 2.07 ROM

I have Verizon XV6700 w/ ROM v2.07.02. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to
unlock the extended ROM. Can someone tell me what all of the CABs are that are included on a Verizon phone of this release - are any of them actually bad (cripple features)? And the ones that aren't bad but junk - if I remove them, do I get any noticeable performance/space back? Is this worth it? Will there be enough space left over that I can actually use Extended ROM to install programs in?

Mike

If you have have total commander installed, it's pretty simple.
Open TC, and in the address bar at the top, type extended_rom and hit enter.
The address bar is the space next to the "\" ".." ">" characters.

I'm sure there are tons of other ways, but this one is pretty easy.
BTW - If you're on Verizon, why aren't you using a newer ROM? There are amazing ROM's out that are way better than what Verizon offers.
Anyways, good luck.
