Outlook Web Access: cookie clear to login

I've poked around this site and found some great tips, but I haven't found the exact problem I appear to be having.

I want to log into Outlook Web Access to occasionally check my email. I do not have the evdo data plan--so I'm using wi-fi access. Also, I'm not trying to get pushed email or even synch via OWA just take a look at my mailbox, calendar, etc.

When I logon (using username, password and domain) to our web exchange server everything seems to appear fine, but when I try to open a particular email or appointment I keep getting the login screen asking for user, password and domain--I renter my info but the login keeps coming up again and again (regardless of clicking the remember password box). After a few tries it comes up with access denied.

I'm able to connect to OWA without problems from my laptop and desktops (never asks for domain though). I've spoken with audiovox and our resident IT people, but so far no luck.

Any suggestions appreciated. Hopefully it's something simple (I'm not very knowledgeable in network settings, etc.)

Thanks,
T

it does that for me too. i am thinking its a exchange 2000 problem. i think its the another reason MS implemented OMA (outlook mobile access) as well as OWA in exchange 2003

Unhappy Any workarounds for OWA via wifi?

Thanks.

That doesn't sound good, and it would seem to leave the device a bit crippled for some users. I wonder if there are any workarounds or third party interface apps?

I can't justify spending $$/month just to check Outlook--but it would be great to be able to do it when I'm on the road and near wi-fi access.

You might try exporting the ssl certificates from your laptop/desktop to your phone. I am assuming you don't have any trouble connecting with a computer. If you get the correct certificates you shouldn't have any trouble reguardless of the version of excahnge server you are running.

The process for exporting certificates can be found w/a search on the forum

I tested with my corporate OWA server (Exchange 2003) and didn't have any issues. Maybe this is an Exchange 2000 issue?

IE on the device doesn't support some things required by older OWA installations, like pop-up windows for instance.

I spoke with the IT people and our OWA is 2003 version.

I'm wondering if there is some wi-fi firewall issue with my home setup--I'll do a test at the neighborhood Panera, for comparison, and see what happens.

Could there be any settings on the xv6700 blocking the domain . . .?

Thanks

If your OWA is 2003, I'd be bugging your IT folks about getting Exchange 2003 SP2 and AKU2/DirectPush implemented

I'll check on the SP2 on OWA. But I really don't want to do push--too many big graphic files/PDFs hitting my mailbox . . .

I still can't quite understand why I can get into OWA after logging in, but when I click to look at specific emails or calendar items it keeps reverting to the login screen again and again.

Thanks again.

Clear Cache, History and Cookies?

Strangely, if I clear the cache, history and cookies, my xv6700 will let me switch OWA views to Caendar, email, etc.--and even let me view individual items sometimes. It isn't consistent however, and it will work once and then it will send me back to login.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to why it keeps asking for the password repeatedly--but clearing info seems to help (nominally)?

Any Help greatly appreciated.

PS-I have ROM version 1.05.00 WWE--could that be part of the problem?

I've got it working--sort of.

It turns out that if I clear the cookies everytime I'm switching views (between calendar/contacts, or even into other duration views of calendar, etc.) I don't get the infinite login screen (though it is a bit of a hassle and if i forget to premptively clear the cookies every single time I get "error access denied").

I've tried various combinations, including cookies disabled and strangley that doesn't make any difference.

Has anyone found a setting that I'm missing?

Thanks

Same Problem

I also get repeatedly sent to the log-in page when connected to web mail. Sometimes I can view one item, sometimes not. I can can use web mail from my laptop over the Internet fine.

This is a real pain as I am not able to get directpush to work either. We do have Server 2003 with SP2 installed, but no pushing to my device. I have searched over 40 threads here and still cannot figure it out!

Please help.

Thanks in advance,
sparky2

You can turn off attachments in the sync and only download them for the messages you want them from...

As far as going back to the login and other web based issues you're having. Did you do the pie hack and move your cache/cookies/history files to the SD card? If so, move them back to defaults, this has been known to cause web problems in pocket IE

No PIE hacks here but still have the problem.
