This looks like a great solution for people not using exchange. It is free, but it requires you to leave your computer on. I've not got it working yet because I've left my laptop at work, but I'm going to try it out on Monday. Some people at aximsite have it going. Read about it here:
I just loaded it up with a Outlook 2003 POP3 setup. I have never configured or used a PUSH setup, so I'm not 100% how it compares to other setups, but from what I can tell it works fine. You have to have both Outlook and the emoze server both running on your PC in order for it to work. And obviously a dedicated internet connection.
As stated, I have never setup a push setup, so take that for what it's worth! Then again, if I could set it up, anybody probably can!
Edit - Almost forgot, there is a client component that runs continually on the PPC.

How did you download it? I tried signing up, but it says it's not available for the 6700.
So if you travel with a laptop and that is your "client" then nothing will update by the way i understand this.
So whats the benefit to this service?
I currently use 4smartphone.net for like 80.00 per year.
My laptop travels from office to office, hotel, car, home etc.
My phone is always updated regardless of the condition of the PC. When i hook up to the internet regardless of my location and start up my outlook it syncs the web based outlook with my PC. The web based also sends me my mail thoughout the day, I make calendar changes, appts, emails responses etc. All goes through my 4smartphone.net account, but it looks as if it comes from my pc and my outlook becuase of the settings. With 4smartphone.net I have and Online "copy" of my desktop outlook that is always in sync with my PC, PHONE,OWA.
This also allows me to log in to my OWA from any computer anywhere and make changes, check emails, add contacts etc. I can also allow my staff to log into it and make changes, appts etc for me also.
Seems like the service of choice if you want to take advantage of your phones completely.
does 4smartphone.net have filtering for things like junk/spam, attachment size, etc? My desktop outlook does a lot of this for me now, and i'd hate to have an unfiltered stream of email going to my 6700.

In your case, there really wouldn't be any benefit. "Desktop Redirectors" (like Emoze) tend to be useful for those who don't have the benefits of Exchange 2003 at their work and who don't have laptops. It's nice because it allows you to sync your device (Emoze only does email, but others like Seven do calendar too) wihtout having to talk to your IT dept. since it goes over http right through the firewall.

The site says that it pushes changes to anything in outlook including calendar, notes, and tasks. I don't have it running yet, so I'm talking out my but, but that is what THEY say...
Before u get set on emoze u really need to trial run 4smartphone.net.
I think u will be impressed with all the features....
The only reason i say that is now i have it and I cant live without it.
Just to damn easy.... keeps it all in sync.
"just stumbled on this link... worth the read im sure if you are thinking about emoze."
i'd stay away from this if I were you. Emoze can't be uninstalled. I had to manually delete the folder and then it still shows up in programs.. I think it's messed with my other settings.. I've done the new ROM, but I'm wondering if I hard reset do I have to re-do the ROM as well.
This application is a joke. It messed up my contacts, tasks, and appointments setting creating duplicates (like 3 or 4 of each.) I'd make changes, but it said it would sync, but never did.
STUUUPID. Now I have to figure out how to clean my PPC up.

Were you Sync'ing via ActiveSync also? It says it will cause dupes if you do.
I gave up on the app. Since I started the thread, I appologize for turning people onto it! The uninstall is similar to many apps that run in the backround. Stop the process before uninstalling. If you try to uninstall and it says "The app is not completely romoved... do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs" click no, reset, then uninstall again. It will then be completely gone.

This program did the same thing to me STAY AWAY from it
well, for me this was amazing. i am waiting for a microsoft solution for my xv6700 but the wireless sync was causing lockups never mind 10-15 minutes for "push email"....so far i get the stuff on my phone almost instantly...i setup outlook on a server, installed emoze, and never looked back...
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED until Verizon gets its act together!!
I read some posts about how the Emoze client (PC & on the 6700) caused issues for people - and people were recommending not to use it.
Well - I've been using it for a while (about a month), and apart from the always on mode being a little battery intensive - it's been working great. Honest!
I wanted to give some feedback as a lot of people may be thinking it's not a good solution to try. Be careful when you first set it up, as it USED to wipe all e-mail form your 6700 first - but the newer V1.1 cleint seems to ask first how you want it synced, (6700 overwrites PC, or PC overwrites 6700 or nothing).
I am not associated with Emoze in anyway, I just think it's been a good solution for me - and it maybe for others.
For the record - I've got a Telus 6700, with the July Telus update, and the newer 1.1 Emoze client (but I've been running V1 until today). Outlook XP on a Windows XP Pro SP2 desktop.
