Lightbulb Tweak/Hack Document Compilation

I decided after numerous searchings of threads, forums, websites etc trying to find tweaks for my xv6700 i decided to compile them all into a word doc to make my life easier after numerous Hard Resets from playing around

There is about 12 pages worth of registry tweaks hacks etc for the XV6700 and the PPC6700..

Oh..im not responsible of course if you use any of the hacks and your Phone turns into a paperweight. Gotta CMA of course!

I would like to thank everyone in these forums for their contributions to this document. I got most of the tweaks from the sticky and other various sources.

If I am missing any Hacks or Tweaks that anyone is aware of please let me know and I will update the doc accordingly..otherwise ENJOY!

*credit to manmz for the pdf version.

Great job! The only suggestion I would make is maybe to note whether each hack/tweak is compatible with the new Sprint ROM, for those who have it. This would be a lot of work, though

Hrmm..that would be a lot of work. But I'm sure it would be useful to you Sprint folks. I'll see what I can do while browsing around. If you know of any off the top of your head please let me know. Feel free to email me with what you know then I can update the Doc continually or post here. I will have to lable the doc by version number at this point it seems

I recently installed SPB tools, and noticed a HUGE slowdown. When i turn my phone on and hit contacts, it used to open immediately, now it takes 15-30 seconds. When someone calls, it takes a few seconds to respond after I hit the answer key...

I have already changed the CacheSize key 8192 and the GLYPHCACHE to 16384.
Is there anything else I can try to speed things up? Otherwise I will probably uninstall SPB and take the loss... I cant handle the slowness.

Yes. But you may or may not be charged by Verizon for data access.

Thanks for your hard work! One question though...

The registry keys that point to Voice Command aren't there. I already have Voice Command installed on my XV6700, but those keys aren't there. Furthermore, I exported my entire registry and performed a search for SDDialer.exe through the entire registry and didn't find it anywhere.

Any Ideas?

Good idea! I will keep the doc version up for the ability to view it on your PPC without having to install another app.

I will also continue to update the doc as well as add a pdf version based on your idea, that way, both can stay at the top of the thread. Plus I continue to update the doc when new hacks come about or changes etc which will require the pdf to be updated at the same time.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time out to compile all these great tweaks!

I have 1 more to add:

Change Voice Codec (VOCODER) from EVRC to 13k on xv6700

First dial ##778
Tap on "Edit"
Enter Unlock Code 000000
Tap on arrow to upper left hand of screen to reveal drop down menu where it says "Display"
Select "CDMA Settings"
Click and hold on the "EVRC Enabled" line under the Settings column
Select "Edit"
Switch to "Disabled"
Then press "ok"
Click and hold on the "Home Page" line under the Settings column
Select "Edit"
Switch to "Voice 13k"
Repeat for "Home Orig" and "Roam Orig"

---

I do have a quesion though:

I tried the "Today Screen Wireless" tweak but it doesn't show up on the today screen. I did all the additions in the registry verbatim and I checked the tick box for it in Settings page for the Today section but nothing shows. Where should I be looking on the Today screen?

EVRC is the standard CDMA voice codec, and it uses less bandwidth so it will hold a call better in most cases.

13k uses the max. amount of bandwidth available, so it will sound better, but you can get dropped easier

This is great. Thank you very much. I had planned to do something similar but never got around to it. I did find myself searching this site constantly for something I had seen before. This puts it all in one place.

Your welcome!

I got tired of searching all over the place myself for tweaks etc. Maybe we can get an Admin to sticky it so I can keep updating it accordingly..plus it may cut down on some of the "How do I do this hack", "Anyone know how to do this..." "Where is the Reg key for.."

Today Screen Wireless

This will show if you are on your home network or roaming, also it will show if your WiFi & bluetooth is On/Off. Very cool hack, thanks to that_kid for posting this over at pdaphonehome.com

Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Click SOFTWARE
Click Microsoft
Click Today
Click Items
Click "Wireless"

Thier will be nothing in this folder to start!

Now add the fallowing to the folder

Add new Dword with a name Flags and the value is "0"
Add new Dword with a name Options and the value is "0"
Add new String Value with a name DLL value is "netui.dll"
Add new Dword with a name Order and the value is "0"
Add new Dword with a name Enabled and the value is "1"
Add new Dword with a name Type and the value is "4

Now close the program and soft reset the phone.
This one sounds great but I couldn't get it working for me. Might have something to do with the new ROM? For starters I didn't have the Wireless folder so I just created it. I have the dll it uses and it made the Wireless item in my Today list but it just doesn't show up. Is this hack ROM specific because I don't have the new ROM? Anyone not using the new rom get this working?
