Unhappy how do I keep Activesync from automatically starting up on its own after ROM upgrade?

I installed the new rom and the activesync program pops up in my programs menu every once in a while. I tried the old trick of adding a server source and changing the schedule, then deleting it, but this doesn't work. Anybody else have the same issue? Any fixes?

Hi iwannabeused,

I know it can be sometimes hard to find what you are looking for with so many posts here. Nonetheless, I recommend using the search button in the future before posting a new thread. This will really help the Mods keep the forum clean, as well as save them alot of time merging threads etc... Anyway, see below.

The ActiveSync fake server "set to manual" trick does work with the new Sprint ROM update. If activesync is running at will after the fake server trick, go into your phone settings, and disable the "Time Synchronization" setting.

I've been testing this for a few days, and so far ActivsSync has not started on it's own. Now, if I need to use the time sync for a network, I just enable it and disable it when done.

So again, if you have the new Sprint ROM update, and do not want ActiveSync to run on it's own. Do the fake server trick and disable Time Synchronization (Phone Menu - Options - Services tab - Time Synchronization - Get Settings - Disable).

Hope this helps.

Best to all,
R

I foud this from ppc6700users.com and seems to be working

Dear Apache Addicts, lol...

I think I've finally figured out how to stop activesync from turning on at will since the ROM update.

First, make sure you do the fake server manual setting trick in this thread. Then go into your phone settings - services, and disable "time synchronization".

With the time synch disabled, I have not caught AS automatically running at power on for a couple days now.

Hope this helps.

Best to all,
Rhacy
