The 6700 does not support WPA2. The best you can do is WPA-TKIP.

OK, I have WPA-TKIP on a linksys WAP54G which uses a passphrase to generate a key. However, a key is NOT visible on the WAP54G's security screen (where I enter the passphrase) - unlike on other devices where I believe when entering a passphrase, up to four keys are generated for u to use on client devices (like the PPC).
In WPA-TKIP there's no phrase-to-key translation. Just enter the same phrase on both ends.
Is there a set number of characters I must enter for my phrase to work? I have read different places that the # of characters in the phrase determines what bit encryption (for example 8 characters = 64 bit encryption,etc.).
I cannot seem to get my connection to work, although PPC does detect network (SSID)

There's no set number. There might be a minimum; I don't know. I use 7 characters, also with a Netgear router, and it works fine. It is case sensitive of course.
You also need to make sure your WAP is in B+G (not G-only) mode as well.

I am in mixed mode already, channel 1, 13 character long pass phrase, SSID Broadcast was off but I turned on for testing tonight...PPC sees my linksys wap54G , tries to connect, but become available within 5-10 seconds of trying to connect.
I changed to B-only. However, when I try shortening passskey to 7 characters the Linksys WAP54G comes back with error message:
"It must be between 8 and 63 ASCII characters or 64 hexadecimal digits"
so I set to 8 characters long such as "dannyboy".
Still no go.
BTW, on the PPC, there are two choices: 1) WPA-PSK TKIP and 2) WPA TKIP.
I was having problems connecting to my DLink DI-624 with WPA2-PSK TKIP, with the built in Wireless management utility. I downloaded Hitchhiker and was able to connect. I also had to assign a fixed IP address. I also noticed that I couldn't access a few network shares on my XP box, using Total Commander or GSFinder+. I used the built in file manager and then got prompted for logon credentials I entered them and saved them and now I am able to access those shares through any file manager. Anyway I hope this helps someone.
