Hearty round of applause for Sprint Customer Service

Ok, I've had my share of waiting on hold for what seems like a lifetime and being told that what I'm asking for is not yet available for my device.

HOWEVER, my 6700 bricked on me Sunday night during the ROM update and after trying everything possible, I called Sprint's Level 2 support. After a few minutes of discussion and collaboration with the other techs working there, they decided that my device was hopeless. Sprint stepped up and got me a replacement unit ASAP and I am now using the 6700 with the updated ROM.

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

footnote: I believe the reason for my other device bricking is that I got it in early November and it was an early production device.

I do have to admit, although it can be like pulling teeth, you generally get your way in the end when it comes to Sprint. Better luck with your new 6700!

Bricked here as well

Well, glad to hear that Sprint stepped up for you during a bad moment for you.

Mine bricked as well during ROM update and local Radio Shack swapped mine out, no questions asked. Phone was only 2 weeks old.

I was porting an existing number form ATT to mine 6700 but my unit could not be unlocked for programming the new number so they are sending me a NEW one. Hopefuilly it will be here today.

PS: I woke up Friday with two cell phones and went to bed Friday with NONE. It's a hard life w/o a cell.

Only spent maybe 20 mins in the Sprint store the other day. Took in my brick 6700, and no questions asked handed me over a new 6700.

I installed the update on Friday and by Tuesday, my speaker had blown out. I went to the local Sprint store and they gave me a new phone, no questions asked. I took the new phone to work today and in an incredible stroke of bad luck, cracked the screen through my case while working.

I expected this replacement to be a standard one week Lockline deal since this one was entirely my fault, but when I contacted the Sprint store, they replaced it with no problems again. I haven't had customer service like this any time in recent memory. I am one happy Sprint customer.

You weren't even able to get into the bootloader mode with Power+Record+Reset, then release? Mine "bricked" on the first flash, but I put it in the bootloader mode using this method, re-ran the flash and it worked fine.

Probably why Sprint is trying to keep the flash exclusive to Sprint stores.

That's pretty amazing... crazy thinking how the insurance plan for some plain old phone costs the same thing...
