Before update I would consistantly get above 700kbps when I have full service but now cant break 250kbps while checking from the same spot. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I never checked my speed before I upgraded because I had just got my 6700 days before I saw the new ROM so I installed new ROM and I tested EVDO today and get around 180 to 250 not to good. I did get one up in the 800's in the morning the rest of the test where done around afternoon. I will test tomorrow when I'm at work because no EVDO where I live at.
I've been using www.dslreports.com/mspeed for speed tests for the past several days (at various times) and I cannot get above 300 kbit/sec with my Sprint 6700. Most of the time I cannot break 200 kbit/sec. My 6700 has the 2.06 rom, hardware 0041 and PRL version 20219.
I'm located in an area that regularly gets two-bar reception with EVDO. I originally thought it was my specific area, but I traveled to an area with full signal strength and I still experienced the same speed test results. I reinstalled the modem settings, but that didn't help. Is there a chance that I have a defective unit, or is there something that I'm missing?

Reason: Updated information
UPDATE: I continued searching the forums and found http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66391&highlight=rwin. I just started testing TcpTune, a free application referred in that thread and it seems to have helped somewhat. I personally used the TcpTune default settings for Cellular Line in RWIN (65536 and checked Window Scaling), 128 in Default TTL, selected Disable in PMTU and unchecked the two items under Other. I am now getting between 200-300 kbit/sec more frequently, but it sometimes reverts back to under 200 kbit/sec again. It's difficult to evaluate these results due to fluctuations in the Sprint network. I have not tested extensively, but the other applications appear to be functioning as expected.
I would still appreciate any other suggestions, but at least things seem to have improved!
for the record in this post, i've extensively tested tcptune and found no correlation between using it and getting different speeds...you can only speculate that it's more than just speed differences on a very volatile evdo network.

drc1 - I havnt installed or used the TCptune program. My speeds are with a factory 6700. My speeds drop too, I think your speeds have to do with Sprints network in your area.
same problem, i upgraded from the a900, and now my EVDO is 4 times slower, i need to find out how to mod the F_RC_R_RC settings, because this is the problem, if anyone can come up with a fix it would help a lot, not just me, but everyone else.
