wierd rom downgrade version "1.03.00 wwe" - is that accurate??
I have downgraded my rom for the new rom released last week to the old rom. I got the old rom of this site in the sticky thread above. my question is do I have the right version. I ask this cause my startup screen is different than it was before. it has the old red sprint logo in stead of the yellow sprint logo. if there is a different rom version that is not the new rom from last week where can I find it.
Sprint might have done a "slipstream" change to the base ROM code to change the logo from the old red one to the new yellow one for the newer model of the phone, but I got my phone back in September and it always had a red Sprint logo during the initial startup until I did the ROM upgrade last weekend.
So now you have the "true" original, for better or worse.
i was happy to see the new logo on the new ROM ... then i downgraded (to test) and the red logo was back ... i'd stick with the old rom if they had the new logo on there. Oh well

I would say for worse. You will probably see that you will have less program space available with the old "red Logo" rom. The original "red Logo" sprint rom added about 5-10 MB of diagnostic type files to the PPC for data logging purposes. Remember that the original "red Logo" phones were for testing and only issued to a small few business customers. Once the phone was released to the general public (first Yellow Logo phones) it came with a more "leaner" rom. I know this because My brother had a new logo phone and I had a old logo phone, both with identical setups. I noticed that he had 24 MB of memory left and I only had 14MB left! So I unlocked the roms on both phones and replaced my ROM with the rom on the Yellow logo phone. I Hard reset, and reinstalled all of the apps and viola! I had 24MB free!
So the old Red Logo rom has extra stuff that will take up some space.

ok, I've loaded the old rom, unlocked it, removed junkware, and reinstall. I have plenty of room now my only question is... is this rom ok? I don't really care what start up screen I have I just want it to work like it use to. was there any difference with the two old roms after removing junkware. sorry for the silly questions but I just want to make sure. thanks guys, cody
