I have done the *786* to fix the evdo disconnect thing so that the calls won't go to voice mail while in evdo. now if I'm in a 1x area and using internet while I get a call it goes to voice mail. I don't know if this was happening befor I did the *786* to fix for the evdo or not. does anyone know how to fix this one? I work in an evdo area and live in a 1x area so I need both fixes.
Example: Old ROM, streaming XM radio over 1X connection and new call comes it. Goes straight to voice mail. This was by design and not sure if there was a hack to drop the internet... If there is/was, it will probably work on this new ROM.

this is normal operation, calls WILL go straight to voicemail if you are in a 1X area and are actively using data. only when you are in an EVDO area will a phone call ring through and interrupt your data session, makes no difference what ROM you are using, same for both Sprint and Verizon.
evdo allows calls to come through while using the data connection because the calls come through on 1x (while you are using evdo for data...though they cannot both function at the same time, they will interrupt each other as specified by DDTM)...evdo (do=data only) does not support phone calls - that's why when you are on evdo, your phone switches to 1x for calls and text messages...
so if you set your phone to evdo ONLY you cannot get calls while using data (because 1x is disabled) and if you're in a 1x area, even with hybrid evdo/1x mode, you cannot get calls while using the data connection (because the 1x is already in use and evdo not available).
long story short, it's a technical issue with evdo and 1x properties...not a rom/phone/software issue.

It's too bad you can't do simulataneous usage of EVDO and voice. Supposedly UMTS supports this which is kinda cool. If you're using WiFI you can do it, but not with EVDO.
