Sprint ROM update - will I need to reprogram my phone??

I am preparing to install the new ROM to my PPC-6700 from Sprint and just want to know;

Knowing that the memory is wiped clean during this process, does the install program grab the phone programming info from Sprint and restore this as part of the install or do I have to reprogram the info from Sprint manually to make th phone work?

thanks.

If the phone part works before you do the ROM update it should continue to work. I would let the Extended_ROM install at least once if you are of the mind to remove junkware it is still better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for the info.

I updated the first of our 3 6700's without trouble. The 2nd one turned into a brick after completing the update. It would not respond to the soft reset. Nothing helped and Radio Shack replaced it today. The 3rd went smooth as silk.

Next time try this if you get another Brick phone

Quote:
Try the following:
1. disable active sync and unplug the USB from the device
2. Press and hold in this order Power->Voice Memo->reset->release all
3. device should say serial
4. plug in USB, should now say USB
5. Make sure device shows up in device mgr
6. activate .exe

I flashed up my fleet of 20 phones. After a couple "bricks" (which recovered fine using the above procedure), I disabled AS and started programming them all using that method the first time. No issues from then on.
