Be careful with maximum volume after the patch (ruptured speaker)

I've searched around the various forums a bit and haven't seen any mention of this yet, but my speaker ruptured this morning. I had the volume set up all the way following the patch and noticed significant distortion. After 3 days of use, this morning, the rear speaker died, with only occasional, crackly gasps for breath. My 6700 was one of the early ones, from back when they were only offered to business accounts, so age may have been a factor, but I just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone else out there to be wary of the maximum volume setting.

Just had my 6700 swaped out (had the old sprint logo 6700)

Now have a new 6700 (new logo etc...) never used the speaker phone before the update, and just used it today after the update and noticed the speaker phone speaker sounded crackly. Didnt sound good at all, had it turned all the way up... Didnt use my speaker too much before, so dont know what it sounded like on the old rom/old phone

I have been using the speakerphone hack for 4 months. While I don't use it everyday, it seems to work pretty well. Some calls are louder than others, and if a call is too loud I turn it down right away. I hope that this doesn't happen to me, but the speakerphone is useless the other way, so for the first year I will run it this way while under warrantee.
