I wrote this little app to toggle between having the audio gateway open or invoking the new free voice speed dial application when pressing the button on a bluetooth headset. The new ROM brought the voice speed dial functionality, but took out the audio gateway so listening to the media player through a bluetooth headset was not possible. With this app you can easily switch between the two modes.
Install the CAB and you will find a shortcut in your Programs called BTToggle. Just map it to a button and you can easily toggle back and forth.
Let me know what you think!
Here is the installation and some screen shots! Enjoy!

I didn't realize that w/ the ROM update that BT buttons/voice dialing was working now. Sweet! Does anyone know if that works with Verizon's version? (or if there's a way to make it?!) |

Haven't tried it with Verizon's 6700, I only have Sprints. All the app does is change the value in the registry entry HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\OEM\\VoiceCommand\\LaunchAPEnable from 1 to 0 or vice versa depending on what the current value is, then displays which mode it is now in. |

so do we still need to do the hack and rename the executable to get this working with voice command?
THanks,

I'm not using Voice Command, but I'm sure this will work with the hack. It just prevents which ever application you have set to run when the headset button is pressed from running and only opening the audio gateway. It won't hurt anything to try it out. If anyone uses this with VC, please post your results.
Thanks! |

i tried the application but it said i am missing the newer version of Microsoft. NET compact framework. Does anyone have a link to that software that works on our phone? I just did the rom update and you would think that was built in.
Thanks,

Not yet. Consider yourself lucky.
If you read the blog entry, you'll find that most of it gets installed in main memory anyway, even if you select the storage card during the installation.

crap, can u program this app so it doesnt require .net 2.0, that would be excellent as the .net takes up space i do not have |

Here is a new version. Downgraded it to VS.NET 2003, which only requires the included 1.1 framework. It worked perfect on my PPC6700. Hope this works out for you guys. Enjoy! |

Is anyone else using this app? It works great for me. I'd like some feedback on it. Thanks! |

works great, thanks! |

Just installed it and have been using it to listen to music over BT. Ran it again to switch back to voice dial mode and placed a call no problem. Works great! |

This is a great idea. Question. Other than this program, what else do I need to install to enjoy music through my bluetooth headset? Another program or hack? |
