I was so happy that it worked that I did not even take the time to see what else was there. The BT Audio today put the control on the today screen. It also works on my 6700 with the new Alltel Rom.
2 versions of BT Audio; one is "BT audio" and the other is "Bt audio today".
The "BT Audio" runs from the programs folder and the other is on the today screen. The today version was really slow to start for me, but the regular BT Audio works great.

I guess that did sound a little vague. Sorry
Oh, okay. I didn't realize there were 2 different versions, lol. I get it now. Thanks for the clarification...
I am not sure if it is a function of MSVC but, without doing any hacking, if I start media player and then hit the button on the headset, it switches to the BT audio. Try it and see if you get the same result. As an aside, since the ROM update MSVC works 100% better over the BT, not perfect but way better. The only registry hack that I have done to the phone since the update was the volume hack in Voice Command.
I have the XV6700 and your toggle works great!!! I'm so glad to have found such knowledgable people here. I have other issues since the upgrade so I included in my question the Bluetooth Audio Gateway change after the new ROM upgrade and asked UTStarcom how to get it back. Believe it or not, their answer was that the XV6700 wasn't designed to provide any sounds other then the phone sounds. This is a Windows Mobile 5 device which is meant to give off sound. I don't understand why they would say such a thing and expect the user just to accept it as fact especially since it worked before running the upgrade.
Does anyone have any instructions on how to install the BT Toggle app?. I have the zip files and have extracted to my active sync folder on my pc to the program file folder but I see no new programs or anything different. Any help would be appreciated.
Well I had it working and it was really great. I then tried to use it after powering down and re powering no go. The headset icon on my phone screen isn't even there. So I repartnered my BT (motorolaHS805) and still nothing.
I then went to the extreme of clearing my phone to factory default. No biggie but to eliminate variables i will do. I have the rom update 2.06.00 WWE.
after inital set up I partered the bt head set and workd great. I installed the bt toggle app it worked good. I powered off and on again, Then the same ****. no headset icon on phone screen and no bt head set, It is a brick. it funtions turns on and off , I have the bt on the blue light is flasing. The box checked in the hands free area of blue tooth connections propertys. I am complety stumped

Wish I could help you out, but all I have for testing is my sprint PPC-6700 and a Motorola H700 headset. Works fine for me.
They meant that the device wasn't meant to play other (non-phone) sounds throuh the BT audio gateway. Most phones do not provide that functionality, as listening to music over the standard BT audio "voice" gateway is severely lacking in quality due to the bandwidth limitations of the profile and the fact that BT headsets are mono, not stereo. There is a new profile that supports stereo headphones, of course, but that is relatively new in the grand scheme of bluetooth (the headsets are still not that popular yet though they are starting to show up in greater numbers). It's most likely a bug that the audio gateway used to open when the user pressed the MFB on old-ROM Verizon phones. The ideal purpose of that button is to launch a voice dialer, which the old ROM lacked. Now that the voice dialer is in place, it makes more sense to limit the audio gateway to phone communications, which is the default purpose of a mono BT headset rather than listening to piped audio.

ok tried the first file again and it works. now i can listen to mp3's and streaming radio agian. hurray. this phone is the greatest even with some short comings. when i get evdo in this area then it will the best.
I updated the rom on my Verizon and the new rom has the voice dialing. so now when I go to listen to my music, i cant get it through my bluetooth headset because the voice dialing keeps picking up.. any ideas???
Im sure this has been answered but the thread is too long for me to just search for it.
When i use BTToggle the audio will transfer to my bluetooth headset for about 5-10 seconds. Then Voice Dialing opens and then stops the music from playing in my BT headset.
