Ok, just tried this to fix an issue I'm having with the audio gateway closing when listening to music via a2dp. When I get a call, headphones pause music then call comes in over headphones, call is terminated, gateway is closed. that was the issue before installing this app. Now if audio gateway is enabled, get audio, receive call, gateway shuts. end of story. So no help for me there. Also, when in audio gateway mode, dial button on headphones doesn't trigger VC which kinda sucks. Nice app and I'm not bashing by any means. Just writing this, in case someone who is having similar a2dp issues can learn from my experience.
That is the purpose of the app, to change the functionality of the button on the headset. In one mode it open and closes the audio gateway, in the other mode it launches the speed dialer. I don't have VC, so I have no idea what the results are with that.

Yeah, I was grasping, since what I would really like is to have the gateway open but still activate VC from the headset. Guess that's another app for another purpose Could also be a limitation of the headphones too.
i have had the app blade made for awhile but didn't want to install .net 2.0 and now that i have the new rom with a2dp i need it so thanks very much for making this for us.

i think blade made the audio gateway toggle app i already have but it requires 2.0 - i am trying as hard as i can NOT to install it because i don't want to waste the space...but the new beta version allows most of the files to install to the SD card so...maybe when that one is non-beta i'll install it.
for now this is an excellent solution! now that i upgraded to the now rom and have a2dp i really appreciate it.

installed the toggle, with the latest framework, i have an I-mate Jam, and i have the SE HB-65 BT, but its not working, the phone works, but not the music part, any help?
To those that are having problems using the audio gateway, it is probably another app you have installed that is conflicting with it, or your BT headset is just not compatible for it. Sorry, but I have no resolution for you. Many people have installed it and are successfully using it right out of the box.

I wrote this little app to toggle between having the audio gateway open or invoking the new free voice speed dial application when pressing the button on a bluetooth headset. The new ROM brought the voice speed dial functionality, but took out the audio gateway so listening to the media player through a bluetooth headset was not possible. With this app you can easily switch between the two modes.
Install the CAB and you will find a shortcut in your Programs called BTToggle. Just map it to a button and you can easily toggle back and forth.

hi i am having issues insatlling the toggle can someone help i have the Net 2.0 frame work. i can download the file to my desktop and as well as double click on it and open up the zip.file and see the cab file but it will not sync to my device. now while i do all that my device is connected. please help as i am going to betting the slingbox for my phone and could live with out the vd issue.....

.CAB files get opened on the PPC unit, .EXE's get opened on the PC.

As a help, follow these steps to listen on the device:
• Turn on BT and if necessary, pair headset to phone.
• Use BT Togggle to get to 'Audio Gateway ON'.
• Fire up the player. You can use any one of them - WMP, TCPMP or Real; they all work.
• Tap the phone button on headset to connect.
• Start Player.
Then, when you're finished, reverse the steps - Stop player, disconnect headset, stop player program, toggle to 'Voice Tags ON' and Turn off headsets - to go back to normal.
This patch works. It just takes attention to make sure you do it right...

O.K. something weird is happening to me with this that I haven't seen addressed. I installed it fine and have .net 2 - mapped bttoggle to the record button. When I hit the button the wireless manager starts up instead of the toggle. I double-checked and the button looks mapped correctly. Any ideas?

It looks like I have a different issue with an app that has re-allocated my record button to whatever my Button 4 (Hold) was set to. When I used a different button it worked fine. Great app, thanks.
I had 2.0 and gate way working fine on my phone, then i upgraded the rom (alltel). loaded everything back up but the music will only play for about 10 seconds then it goes back to speaker. I tried the new gateway with 1.1 but still the same problem. for some reason after ten seconds it disconnects from the blue tooth headset and goes back to playing on the speaker phone. The voice dial was included with the rom update but i had this installed before. i looks to be the same program.

I too am on Alltel with the new ROM and have the exact problem digitalmemories describes. Very annoying.
Could also be a limitation of the headphones too.
