DSOD after AKU2 ROM ugrade anyone?

Has anyone had any DSOD's after the new rom upgrade? So far I have not but I havent finished loading all of my apps up.

It would be nice to confirm that the SD card problem and whatever other issue that was causing the DSOD's was fixed.

Highly doubtful. UTStar claims they can not even reproduce the DSOD issue in the lab, let alone address it.

Out of curiosity, have any of you started loading prgrams and saving email attachments back on to your storage cards? Out of the 3 6700's I have tried so far, the only way to avoid DSOD was to avoid the above.

The rule of thumb is not to run any program off the card that interacts with the today screen. that said, to be safe I dont run attachments off the card either. If ur concerned about this issue there is extensive info in the DSOD thread(s). I'd also suggest pocketmechanic to format your card properly and keep things on the system clean. its helped a lot of people.

I've had the phone for 6 months, always stored my attachments on the storage card and never had dsod. It's spb 3.1 I think. They went and fixed the prob, then the update came out and now it aint working again... wah wah wah

I had the DSOD problem constantly with the old ROM. I removed pocket breeze and never had it again. With the old and new rom, I'm running Pocket Weather off of my SD and haven't had a DSOD yet.

I used to run pocket weather on a SD, but find the whole device much snapier on the device. My rule of thumb is anything on the today screen goes on the device

Was wounder about your rule of thumb. Just got my minisd started installing stuff and wasnt sure if it would be a good idea to install apps on my card. So main thing to not do is install apps that would run on the today screen and I would also think ones that autostart/always run in the background would not be good to install on the SD right?

I've had 2 with the new rom.....removing and reinserting the storage card brought it back to life both times without having to soft reset.

Is anyone who is having the issue running phonealarm? I am and it locks up the device every 12 hours or so. That is the only app I have on the phone and when I remove it all is fine.

Im not... its not necessarily a specific application I dont think... I think its many applications and the mini sd card interaction. I would of hoped it fixed but looks like they made it worse cause I really didnt have dsod (once in a blue moon, now at least once a day) until this rom update. There is a file in the startup folder called sddaemon. Daemons usually run in the background so what they may have done is just add a simple file that keeps the mini sd mounted so the screen doesnt lock up as a fix, but it probably still times out later and when it crashes it crashes hard. Ive noticed a significant drop in battery life since this update and I cant help but wonder if thats what it is. This is of course all speculation.
