I have the OEM Audiovox car charger that I would like to get some info on. When plugged in, the LED doesn't light, with or without the phone attached. I went to the Verizon store, and the tech tried 4 other units, none of which would light up the LED (he said he would call me when he found out what was going on, but I'm doubtful).
With the phone plugged-in I get no LED and it doesn't charge. I tried the power off before connecting, power on after connecting - no change. I tried soft reset - no change.
Should the LED light red when plugged into the outlet without the phone attached?
It seems that some USB chargers do not supply enough current for the unit to charge. My belkin car charger act funny like that sometimes with multiple units as well. I figured it was current related because my stock AC adpater putting out 1A works great every time.
Do you think the OEM Audiovox charger sold at the Verizon store doesn't put out enough current? Has anyone else any experience with the OEM car charger?
While its pluged in try this. Turn the phone off with the power button and wait for the charge light to come on. This happens to me and its the only thing to get my phone battery working again.

Well I tried that, but nothing...no LED, no charging, nada.
can someone tell me what the output voltage and current is for the audiovox car charger. I think it should be 5v but what is the current is it .5A or is it 1.0A like the home charger?
I have no idea, it's the oem audiovox car charger sold at the verizon store. It has no labeling with current or voltage. It has a 2A fuse. If you have the oem charger, it is the same one.
usually it is right on the side of the part that plugs into the cigarette lighter. In small print it should tell you.
Nope, nothing. The only thing stamped is the part number 'CLC6700', and there is a paper sticker on the cord with two other part numbers 'HTC6700VPC' and 'AUDVX6700/PPC6700' and a date code. That's everything.
I tried it in another car and it worked perfectly. The charger wasn't making contact with the socket on my Honda Accord in either outlet. Funny thing is, it doesn't fit easily in the 12V test transformer at the Verizon store either - the tech opened up 4 chargers and couldn't get any of them to work.
Finally pushed it in harder than good sense would normally allow, and it seated in the Honda and is working. I'll have to sell it with the car however, as it is not coming back out!
Good news is that it shows the battery charging icon right away, without any power-off, power-on cycling required.
I have to use a blackberry for work and have the blackberry car charger as well. I have been using this one also so i do not have to carry two chargers.
the blackberry charger is 5v .5A The wall charger for the ppc6700 is 5v 1.0A so it should be fine but just not charge as fast. I was just curious to see if the ppc6700 charger was 1 or .5 amps.
Guys... just go to RadioShack and buy their I-Go Car Charger. You'll need Tip A32 for the PPC-6700. I've owned one for a year now, and they also make tips for my other phones, digital camera, camcorder, Ipod... everything! It's only $29.99 and extra tips are $9.99 each. This works GREAT!
