How to get TIME AND DATE on taskbar?
Anyone know a hack to show both TIME AND DATE on the taskbar for the VERIZON XV6700?
Thanks!

I have this in my notes for a registry tweak, but I don't have a Verizon model to test it on. Honestly I use Tweaks2k2 for this type of setting. There are other "tweak" apps that include this, too.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt
0 = Nothing 1=Time 2=Date 3=Time and date

Verizon XV6700 registry tree appears different
Thank you for figuring things out that far... your post on another site actually got me thinking about this.
However, the registry tree appears to be different on the Verizon XV6700.
It is the same this far:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
But is different after this.
I need my PPC working, so I can't really experiment. Perhaps someone else has figured out how to do the same thing on the XV6700?
Thanks!

No you have to CREATE the TBOpt value. It's a DWORD and set it to 3. Then, press the power button to suspend the 6700 and then soft reset it while it's suspended.
Keep in mind that the year will be cut off (you'll see 03/17/0). It's a known bug/issue with WM5 (though not likely to be fixed, because this registry hack is a holdover from the H/PC days).

This is the correct key. Change the value of TBOpt to 3 for Date and Time. It is in the root of the Shell, not a Key in the Shell.

Thanks guys!
You have taught me something new... didn't realize you could create keys.
I have RESCO regedit... I will try this over the weekend.

Add spaces to the end of the value...
I saw on another forum that if you add a couple of spaces (hit your spacebar two times) after the "3" it would work. So I tried it and it does display the correct date. However, it is in bold font, while the clock is formatted with a regular font. I didn't like the look so changed it back. Give it a try to test.

Don’t perform this if you have a Sprint PPC6700 with the new ROM update..
It doesn't work correctly.
