lost ability to use Cyberon Voice Speed Dial "SDDIALER" with Today Screen Lock

With an update to the new Sprint Rom AKU 2.0 I have lost the ability to use the Cyberon Speed Dial application while the phone is locked.

Considering how often this phones buttons are pressed while stowed away, locking the phone/keys is very important. With the older rom, I would password protect the phone, then while the phone was password protected, I would press the Bluetooth action button on my headset, the phone would wake up, and Speed Dial would activate allowing me to make a call. This would all happen while the phone was still password protected.

Now while the phone is locked, I press the Bluetooth action button, the phone wakes up by it seems like the Cyberon Speed Dial application is not allowed to run. The only way it now works is if the phone is completely unlocked both with password and the new keyboard lock.

While I like the keyboard lock option, I would like to find a way to allow the execution of programs in background while the phone is locked. This should already be happening with items like push email, and it did work before with Speed Dialer, but not anymore. I figure there may be a registry hack that I could use to "authorize" the Speed Dial to run in background, but I am not sure yet where to look.

Any help or workaround would be appreciated. I would like to use the phones standard features on this, and not have to load extra software like Mortsaver and such.

Microsoft voice command works with the key lock and/or password enabled, after you do the regedit of course. Doesn't help you with Cyberon, but perhaps its another option.

Are you talking about the SDDIALER hack for Voice Command? This didn't work before with the previous rom. Also there was a problem with Voice Command not closing the channel after a failed Voice Command attempt. Not sure if this was rom/firmware related or not.

The hack actually works now. I stopped using the hack on the old rom because it was flawed. Now all you have to do is make the registry change for it to work.

So far so good, the hack does seem to work (better) now. Before it had a problem where it would never close the bluetooth connection, but now that seems to be working.

can you repost the solution that is working for you? The many bluetooth voice dial hack threads have all blurred into one for me.

all that is needed now is to change the executable launched when pressing the headset button. the key to change is hklm\software\oem\voicecommand\path. by default is has \windows\sddialer.exe for the path. after installing VC change the path to \program files\voice command\voicecmd.exe. you should be set after that.

I was having the same problems with my 6700 crashing when I used MS VC with the sddialer file in \Windows changed out with the voicecmd.exe file. I was also getting the headset staying open and I needed to hit the power on the PDA to shut it down. I have done the registry hack above and I will try that out when I can. I hope it works because it sure is handy.

I was wondering if anyone found a workaround for the Cyberon bluetooth voice dial without MS Voice Command? With the today screen lock or the password lock the voice command will not launch. It does however open up the audio channel.

Any new news on a workaround? I know I'm not the only person experiencing this. If anything is there a way to remove the voice dialer that came in the New Sprint Rom and download the hacked one? I hate not being able to Voice dial with a key lock or password lock activated. If inside the holster it will automatically redial or dial a number. The password lock on the original rom solved this little nuisance.

I have only been using the Microsoft Voice Command with hack. Sometimes the VC will no longer respond to bluetooth commands, and you have to remember to press the button of the headset after the call to close the channel.

The old SDDIALER soltion no longer works, with no known workaround as of yet.

I was having the same problem as you, and all but gave up on Voice dial, until...

I was looking through the site and someone mentioned that DeltaLock does not hog the screen. That is the problem, the other lock programs don't let the Cyberon screens show. they suppress them. DeltaLock is the ONLY lock program that doesn't do this (well MortSaver doesn't either, but it's not compatible with the updated ROM).

Use DeltaLock, set it to BlackScreen/don't hog, and enjoy! I'm lovin it.
