I've called every sprint store I can find in the San Fernando Valley and can't seem to find any store that knows ANYTHING about the update. Anybody have a store that they know has it?

Thanks for your help.
right here in your own home, just download it and run it yourself. As you have just discovered with all the calling around, its very likely you know more about this phone and updating it than anyone you will find in the sprint store.
The problem I have with that, and I would if I could, is that neither I or my wife own a PC. I work in the music industry out here, and everything I do is on an Apple. With this phone I've been stuck waiting on Missing/Sync and having to use/extract .cab's to put software on my phone. I could use a family member's computer, but won't have a chance until late next week..Obviously, I'm chomping at the bit to get this done.
Somewhere within the giant sticky update post is a location that the Sprint Techs can look in their computers to find the update information. I think it's within the first 5 or 7 pages. That way if you can talk directly to a tech, you may be able to enlighten him. You'll still want to bring the sync cable along.
^^ Or $40 + whatever OS you want from www.retrobox.com!! Something new and fast isnt necissary.
OP: Is it that bad using a mac with a pocket pc? I have been considering replacing my thinkpad with rev. B of the macbookpro... Can activesync run under virtualPC and allow exe installations and syncing?
From everything I've read, and I haven't personally tried it, activesync doesn't play nice with virtualPC. Until MarkSpace or PocketMac get it in gear, it's going to be a pain to keep the 6700 synced. You can transfer contacts as vcards back and forth, but you have to do them one at a time, and if you use iCal, you aren't able to export more than one calandar to the ppc
