I'm the manager of our Sprint corporate account and had a similar experience. We'd had two of the G1000s since about two months after they'd been released, one used by our president and the other used by our vice president. We'd kept insurance on them for the life of the phone, but they'd been since passed down to a couple of director-level employees. Those guys used those phones for nearly a year, putting up with all that makes the G1000 what it is, but they never really broke. Still rec'd email, still took phone calls, even after some abusive relationships.
Finally, they both started to miss calls and soft reset during phone calls, which prompted emails to be sent to me. After a quick call with my business rep, I got one swapped out quite promptly for a 6700 and the other is on its way.
As big and bulky as those G's are, I've gotta hand it to Hitachi, because they made a very durable phone.
