OK I'm back, remember me (the guy who was first)? I go have two 24oz Miller Lites and a couple pork chops and all hell breaks loose! Nice job, gang--and to think all I did was drop my 6700 off for an hour LOL
Couple observations:
DirectPush: CONFIRMED WORKING! E-mails to my Exchange Server 2003 SP2 are delivered in 10sec--sweet! Who needs BES???
EV-DO Speed: PSYCHO since the upgreade. This might be a fluke but I see 800+ kbps nearly always, and I cracked the magic 1 Mbps bracket for the first time ever (1164 Mbps)... PSYCHO.
I can't quite figure out a couple things about the CommMgr (perhaps because I sync with an Exchange Server?). The "ActiveSync" button is disabled. Also, when I tap the "Stop Data" button the phone just dials *777... curious.
WE GET AN EXTRA BUTTON!: Both buttons on the left side (#5 and #4) both have press and press-and-hold functionality. The "Start" button is hi-jacked by default and needs to be re-assigned to the Start Menu command. We can assign #4 and #5 to PIE, recorder, CommMgr and VoiceCommand... Sweet!
What do I need to do to get rid of this junkware again.. Is there anyway to do it without Total Commander, and just installing the cabs you want..
I ran the unlocker, then the unhide reg file. [EDIT]No need to install total commander. Once unlocked and viewable, I can just use built-in file explorer.[/EDIT]
then started deleting files from there. That's the easiest way to do it.

Okay, under Phone>Settings...
Network Service is now changed to "Home Only" and "Standard" versus "Sprint and "Roaming". Location Setting is by default off. Time Sync is under there too.
In Wireless Manager Push E-mail is titled "Microsoft DirectPush". Will be trying it out shortly since I've got a MailStreet account..
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PowerICON.sa.CAB
-new power icon
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PT_RemoveHTCBatteryICON_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
-remove htc battery icon because of new power icon
I just removed these two CAB files and hard reset. The top battery icon is STILL there. The lower one is too.
That confirms PT_RemoveHTCBatteryICON_Apache_206300.sa.CAB does remove the htc battery icon, but disproves that PowerICON.sa.CAB is for the power icon in the top bar.

You could do the Extended Cab Unlocker and than remove what you dont need than rebuild the Extended cab. so each reset will only install what you want and you wont have to use total commander. Do this at your own risk
I am working on breaking down what the new cabs in Ext_ROM do:
Here is the first then I am going to bed...more tomorrow...
PP_HTC_CM_Guardian_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
Looks to me like this might be some way to enforce SprintPCS network settings on every startup....I will let others comment on it and if this is really needed or not....
Hey all... wow I missed a lot of activity this evening. Many thanks to UpDownload for the files. It's great to have the original ROM package as well.
Someone posted on the previous page about the Roaming options being different. Are there still three options (Sprint only, Roaming, and Roam only)? Or did they remove the Roam only option? If so I'm going to figure out the registry entry to restore the Roaming only option (it comes in really handy when you want to determine who the local roaming partners are).
Ok I can see why they added this one. Might be a fix for the modem problem?

Try doing a soft reset and see if the stuff you deleted out of the extended rom shows back up. That's what I'm seeing over here.
***Nevermind I got it working, back to my reinstalls

Now it only says "Home Only" or "Standard". Thats all it says.
