OK I think I have found the answer. You can only browse the corporate address book if your Exchange Server has SP2 installed. Ours does not until next week so that option is not present.

you could have, of course, searched for "codes" and found this:

http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=68265

not a flame, but just pointing out that it took me 3 seconds to find what you were looking for.

good luck,

okay guys got a big problem here. So anyone that can help asap would be appreciated. I did the upgrade on my last phone and everything went perfectly. I had a problem with something hardware before on the phone so i went into sprint today they gave me a brand new phone. I went to do the upgrade it did everything and said it was successful and i took it out of the usb and now the unit will not turn on.

If i do the hard reset procedure it gives me the option to clear the rom etc, but when i hit Y nothing happens and it turns right back on.

How can i go ahead and fix this problem?

EDIT: Using the method mentioned before i stared up the ROM upgrade again by getting the unit into USB mode. Im hoping that will fix the problem.

EDIT 2: OKay went through the ROM upgrade again everything went fine and dandy but then again when your supposed to remove the phone from the cradle and reset the unit. THe screen fades away like it's supposed to but never turns back on and the phone is basically a brick. Can someone please help.

page 1 or 2 - darknight's bootloader method - i haven't heard anyone who couldn't save their phone with that method.

good luck,

That's what im using to get my phone to talk with the computer and run the rom update again. After the first time it didn't take that's when i did the boot loader. Then i ran the update again and still had the same result. Nothing after a reset when the Upgrade is complete.

I just now am upgrading for a 3rd time using a different computer that doesn't have active sync or anything installed on it to see what happens.

EDIT: Okay after the third ROM update using a totally different computer the phone came back on. Apparently it was something going on with this computer that was bricking the phone. Maybe Activesync..who knows but doesnt make sense since i did the upgrade on the last phone on this computer. Either way im glad my phone is back up and running.

Does anyone else have an issue with DirectPush where the service stops working after a few hours? It says "error syncronizing". If I soft reset or even simply close/restart ActiveSync on the PPC, then it works again.

Any thoughts?

Ok, after running this for about four days now, I am seeing serious battery draw issues. But now also, I am getting a tone of lockups, the first few days I didn't have to soft reset but down, i am getting a hard lock up. Anyone seeing his, plus the batter super drain?

If you are using exchange push and you get a lot of emails, you will most definitely see a battery drain. I The lock ups probably have more to do with the applications you have installed.

ok guys, this thread is really starting to get way off-topic (and thus I have removed those posts). It was intended to help people get through the update process and assist with any major issues that came up afterwards. The rules set forth in my first post still stands, please reread it as some of you have seem to have forgotten it. If you are having a specific issue after upgrading your ROM, you should find the appropriate thread in the forum and post to it.

We have threads for almost every issue related to the ROM upgrade:

- setting up Direct Push
- Direct Push and Battery Life
- Removing Junkware
- EVDO Ring Through
- A2DP
- trying to get the ROM update to work on non-Sprint 6700s

Try this if all of the networking/firewall/AV settings don't clear up the problem.

You will need to download and install a registry editor.

Once installed add the following entries to the registry:

Reg Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of value to add: MTU
Type: DWORD
Data: 1514

Reg Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer
Type: DWORD
Data: 1642

After adding these entries perform a soft reset of the device and try to sync.

in short, you need to search for these threads (so in your case you should search for "A2DP" - without the quotes). If you don't know how to search or where the search function is located, you should read the sticky forum rules post located just a few threads down from this one. It explains how to access the search function and how to effectively use it to extract information from this forum.

I don't know if you guys have gotten this fixed yet because I haven't read every single post in the thread-- there are a ton of them.

Here's my fix to the "retrieving settings" problem: I had to disable my Sygate firewall by going into the managment console and stopping the Sygate service.

I don't know why the update is suddenly causing Activesync problems with my firewall when I didn't have a problem before-- but I suspect you're also having firewall problems, like I did. Now I have to stop the firewall (Sygate for me) service every time I want to sync.

Well, after trying this over and over the past 3 days, today the screen displayed "software is being updated", then "update complete", then it said it would reset my phone. After that I had 20219.

Where those on-screen messages there on the old firmware? I didn't pay attention.

Have any Verizon 6700 owners gotten the Today Screen Wireless hack to work on their unit? I know someone who can't get it to display, but he sees it in the Today screen settings.
