I can tell that having completely incompitent sprint locations here is going to be a real problem for me. The store in my town JUST GOT THEIR FIRST TECH EVER. She seems to be non tech oriented as well. This looks like it could be a long, hard road for me. Best of luck to everyone else.
Cut and past this quote and take it to your tsr.
Visit connected/departments/it/Web installer tool and get the update. might want to take your sync cable in case she doesnt have one at that store.
I have a commitment and have to run--I'll dig deeper and get back to this AM. There's a lot to digest here in the heat of the moment and I can't dig and post on the board at the same time.
what's most interesting about this rom update is how sprint will disseminate this upgrade to the masses who do not frequent forums like this one - will each individual ppc-6700 owner be contacted? Will they be prompted the next time they call *2?
In the past sprint has sent SMS txt to the samsung family of BT phones notifying of important updates. Not sure if they will follow suit with the pda phone. Anychance we could be notifyed through download agent on the PDA?
It's best to reinstall everything from scratch. If you restore selectively you may be ok but is it worth it???

I'm in the middle of uploading the file to my site, but I started the .exe and there does not appear to be any mention of any need for this. It looks exactly like the Jas Jar upgrade screenshots I saw. I'm not sure this is necessary...
