wifi networks are labeled as secured or unsecured in the popup when detected--think that's new...

Cut and past this quote and take it to your tsr.

Visit connected/departments/it/Web installer tool and get the update. might want to take your sync cable in case she doesnt have one at that store.

Good Luck

I bet it'll be posted on Sprint's site, but I can tell you a store in Indianapolis can do it

Regardless, something this important shouldn't be left to one local person's competence level.

I have a commitment and have to run--I'll dig deeper and get back to this AM. There's a lot to digest here in the heat of the moment and I can't dig and post on the board at the same time.

just hard-reset (to rename ppc and sync to my old profile) and see a time-sync.cab installing--think I know what that does

Date was set to Feb 1 '06 by default--new is nice!

Here's the clean-boot memory stats:

storage total 43.50, in-use 10.11, free 33.39
program total 49.20, in-use 15.40, free 33.80

renaming ppc to old device ID didn't work--activesync 4.1 appended a "1" to the device name anyhow. That blows...

what's most interesting about this rom update is how sprint will disseminate this upgrade to the masses who do not frequent forums like this one - will each individual ppc-6700 owner be contacted? Will they be prompted the next time they call *2?

If it's anything like the Treo updates, they'll send a broadcast SMS about 8 weeks after it's released stating that there is an update available.
