I hope to God someone can come up with the patch files so we can update the bluetooth stack for a2dp. And I hope it doesnt involve another hard reset. I almost do not want to even update my phone.

The Silver-Gold Skin was developed with "New ROM Smardialer" in mind. I broke apart the pieces so just install the skin and you are good to go:

I called Sprint and the "Advanced tech support group" assured me that a phone call not interrupting EVDO traffic was by design. I assured her that it used to work, so she checked with a colleague who has a 6700. She called me back to tell me that his didn't interrupt the EVDO data connection for a phone call either. I asked for the MSL code and explained what I was going to do, so she gave it to me. She said she was going to do some further investigation of this.

In the meantime, I did a ##786# reset with my phone, reprogrammed, did an IOTA update, restored from latest backup after installing new ROM last night, and it works great! I can stream via Orb, and an incoming phone call interrupts my data connection again. You guys rock!!!

I'll post an update once she calls back and I demonstrate for her that streaming XM from the net is actually interrupted when a phone call comes in

I dont have a camera here, but its a very easy registry change, You can turn it off in the today screen -- items screen anytime you want. Just try it. I might not use it day to day, unless you freqently use different wifi networks i dont think its useful.

Also: I have noticed a problem after the update. This may be due to software I have installed so Id like to see if anyone else experiences it. After a soft reset the first time I open the start menu I get a 30 second 'lock up' any time after the first it opens normally. Anyone else with this issue so we can compare software?

Is anyone else having problems with their SD card? I have a 2GB and after the upgrade it doesn't work. When I put the card in, it basically locks up. As soon as I take the card out, the phone starts responding again. I tried reformatting the card and even tried FAT and FAT32 (does PPC support NTFS?).

That Start button delay happens on my 6601 also, hate it.

For those here that are uncomfortable messing around in the registry, I made a .cab file to add the above information to get the Wireless Today Plugin. I don't have a 6700/WM5 so can't test it fully... but it should work with no problems. Just soft-reset after running the cab.

I'll try to post a picture soon. I can't take credit for this as I found it over at xda-dev's but it is a great thing, I'm happy to pass along the info.

Can someone comb-over the "direct push" email thingy? I have a feeling it is just redirecting email somehow....imagine how I concluded that...but is therey any reason that anyone WITHOUT exchange would need it for?

EDIT: Nevermind; I'm an idiot---that is referring to the "walkie-talkie" thing, right? You have to pay extra for that, right? I won't even bother then....

no. unless you have an exchange server configured I dont even think you will be able to enable direct push.

Anyone else experiencing the start menu slowdown I mentioned? I really didnt want to have to start removing programs one by one.

I heard mention of a certificate that is needed for push to work. Whats up with that? We have the latest revision of exchange as far as I know.

Change the option HiddenPreferenceMode from 1 to 0

Then go to Phone, Options, and check in the list. You can now change the preference of operation. You have 3 choices, Hybrid, EVDO, and 1X

By three choices, you mean ALWAYS EVDO, ALWAYS 1/2X, and hybrid?

Nope I did a soft reset and the SD card (2GB) still won't work. This isn't a new card. It's been working for a while now. I removed everything off of it and reformatted it. That didn't help either. I noticed it won't even turn the screen off when the card is in. This is a bummer, I have "anchorman" and "waiting" on there and I can't watch either one now. <crying in the corner> If I call Sprint will they be any help? (I've been very unimpressed with their support on technical issues like this)

There is a shortcut in your start menu that is pointing to a fairly large program on your storage card. That is what is causing the delay when you reset. There was a trick mentioned on here where you have to make a new folder in the list and cut & paste the shortcut into it. It worked like a charm for me. Now after every soft reset my start menu/programs come right up.
Hope this helps.

Its definitely skype causing that. Thats what caused my lockup. I just made a new folder in windows/startmenu/program files and called it "skype". Then I put the shortcut in there. This trick works for any other large program that might cause the lockups. Glad it helped.
