Guys I work in the Sprint 6700 support group. It's known as Advanced Technical Support. Feel free to ask for us. 1. I have heard NOTHING about any upgrade. There are only RUMORS at this point. 2. Sprint NEVER asks for a contract extension in return for firmware upgrades. They're always free. 3. We have been swamped with calls for help with the "no modem found" problem. We know how to reset it, and make it work again. Believe me, we will welcome an upgrade that fixes this problem. Finally, whatever you may think of Sprint Techs, we DO care. Our customers are the reason we have jobs and we take pride in helping them.

Can you tell us the version numbers? Other info?

Also, if it is a standard ROM update like we have seen in the past, and it is an official release, how about a link to download?

Just got back from sprint and I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well... Not really lol, they said I was upto date with what they had, said if one did/is coming out they know nothing about it...... For once though, a rep knew what my phone was and how to do everything in it, even gave me msl no questions. Took my number and said he'd call when he sees something

A word of caution. Whether this is true or not, before you install any upgrade on your device, BACKUP FIRST!

dumb question, but does the upgrade require a hard reset - will i have to reinstall all my hacks and programs and re-enter settings? If so, this is sucks.

Yes, but hopefully, some of the hacks will be incorporated.

Exclamation Yes, Yes, Yes!

My phone is updated--seriously! I'm so pumped I can't type.

MAD6700, you were EXACTLY RIGHT! Screenshots coming ASAP. I don't have that "before" shot, but I'll enjoy that $10! I coulda posted an hour earlier if I hadn't been in a business meeting!

Confirmed!

I am tbhausen's brother and I have seen his Comm Manager screen. He has the update and is syncing right now. There are 7 buttons now where there used to be four. The tech. at the Sprint store told him he's the only person who is a bigger phone geek than he is, and I can vouch for that.

If I have to wait any longer I think I'll explode. And then think of the mess you'll have to clean up!

I would be more interested in the actual process than pictures. Did you hand over a fresh “Hard Resetted” phone for upgrade or Hacked up version. If so how broken are some of the hacks?

tbhausen, did you get a copy of the installation software or just the update itself?

I'll remain optimistic, but I won't believe it until I see the file posted for download and have upgraded my own 6700.
