Sure... APAC is the HTC shorthand for Apache (the HTC name for the 6700) and SPCS is what HTC calls Sprint. That is definitely the format for HTC ROM updates.
From the numbers, my guess is that this is ROM version 2.00.600 WWE. Not sure how the other numbers fit in (probably indicate the extrom and radio rom versions).

Exactly what I figured... I told the tech that the "200600" was probably significant in that it meant AKU2.
UPDATE: The tech says they have two ways to get/perform software updates. One requires a connected phone; the other doesn't. He said the latter method didn't have the software available (posted) yet. He promised to grab a 6700, try the former method, and call me back. If he can get the update, I'm going to ask if I can bring a CD and get a copy.
Ok, I just came from the sprint store here on jamiaca ave. NY. The costumer service laddy told me that there are no updates out for my phone as yet. however there is a prl update.
I will be checking back when i leave work.

If this release follows previous conventions then the extrom version will be 2.00.300. Radio ROM would be 2.00.112, or maybe it's still 1.03.112? I haven't kept up with radio ROM versions on other carriers' 6700s (Verizon, Alltel, Bell Mobility, TNZ), so I have no idea where their more recent versioning is up to on the radio stack.

Called a different store to cross-check. They told me an update had been issued to prevent phone from randomly going into flight mode. Said they didn't have any other updates--seemed quite uninformed.

I just got a replacement 6700 and for the record here is where I stand from Alltel perspective:
ROM Version: 1.04.00 WWE
Rom Date: 09/12/05
Radio Version: 1.05.00
While everyone's not getting any work done waiting for the word, can someone tell me what A2DP is? Also besides the "in flight mode" fix are there any other substantial updates?
Hmm, "Heather"'s response is odd (who is she, anyway?). I'm not disputing the flight mode thing, as that's pretty consistent with Sprint's info since the original post last night. But for her to say the ROM version is 1.03.00 doesn't jibe with tbhausen's file name. In HTC notation, the first number given is always the ROM version, followed by extrom version and radio version (in that order).
So unless that file name is wrong, I do think this update is more substantial than just a flight mode fix.
I agree. Besides that, a full ROM update would be awful silly for just a flight mode fix. If that's all the update does, I won't even bother with the update until a more fully featured update arrives- not worth a hard reset.
