cannot use 6700 as a modem anymore (see two arrows, not EVDO)

I can't get evdo connection when using my ppc as modem anyomore! I can connect fine from the ppc itself but when I plug it has a modem the connection drop and I get the two arrows pointing in the different connection sign instead of the evdo one.

I used to be able to connect using the ppc as a modem weeks ago, and since I only made one change which is the always on hack, could that be what's causing this problem?

Seems like my laptop is not seeing the ppc as a modem anymore....

I had this same problem after I applied the "always on" hack. I get a "end data call first" pop-up. This manifests itself as the arrows instead of the EV symbol. I get around it by turning flight mode on then off while I have Wmodem open (but not started). As soon as the start button in Wmoden becomes available to click (when it is no longer greyed out), I click it and plug the phone into the laptop. I then connect normally.

Thanks for the feedback, it works now!

I wonder why with my previous phone w/o evdo i was getting the same speed as now with evdo (230kps), i would have thought that evdo will be faster than 1X....
