PIE Error - "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again."

Does anyone else consistently get this error when attempting to connect to the Internet w/ PIE? This is via an EV-DO connection.

This problem seems to have come about just recently, but it's getting to be very annoying. I can usually visit 2-3 pages (using bookmarks or clicking through links) before it arises. A soft reset appears to temporarily resolve it, but then it almost always comes back (again after 2-3 pages/links). I've also tried forcing it to drop the connection by turning on "flight mode", but again, it usually only resolves it for a short period of time.

It seems like a DNS problem or perhaps a problem with the actual data connection dropping. It says "Locating..." at the bottom, but then never goes to "Opening..." When it's in this state, it usually (but not always) does not attempt to re-dial the connection (e.g. #777).

My 6700 is pretty vanilla. I'm running PocketBreeze Version 5.0, have no registry hacks and that's about it. I haven't made any changes recently, but this problem is happening pretty frequently. I've had the phone for 3+ months and this issue just started happening in the last couple of weeks. I doubt it's a coverage issue, as I'm seeing it at home and work - both places used to work pretty well.

If it were a hardware problem, I would think it would never connect, so I tend to think that's not the issue. When it's in this state, I can make a voice call with no problems, which I guess is "a good thing".

At any rate, I'm at wits end. If anyone else has experienced this issue, I'd love to hear about it and, more importantly, how you resolved it.

Thanks,
--Robert

I typically only get this error when I forget to add a "www" an "http://" or misspell the actual URL...

I'm pretty sure this isn't causing my issue as it happens even with bookmarks that have previously worked just fine.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

That does sound strange. Have you tried deleting the cache and cookies from PIE? Have you tried another browser (such as Opera)?

I have deleted the cache, but that didn't resolve the issue. I haven't tried Opera, but that may be my next step.
